"What?" that was the only word that I was capable of saying.
"What's wrong?" asked my dad, slowly rubbing my elbow in attempt to calm me down.
"Oh nothing. Nothing. I'm okay." I quickly stutterly lie. Without hesistation, I exited my room, into the kitchen. Leaning afainst the island counter, I tapped numbers into my phone forcefully. I place the cell phone to my ear and wait for an answer as I continue to listen to the familar rings.
"Hello?" came Renee's voice from the tiny speaker.
"Hey, sorry to wake you so early." I aplogize for my distubance.
"Nah, it's fine. I wanted to say goodbye to you and Austin before you two left anyways." I hear her soft giggle and a small smile pops up from the corner of my mouth.
"Yeah.. about that.." I drift off the sentence.
"What? You're not going anymore or? What's wrong?" The tone of her voice changes from joy to concern.
"No, I am but it won't just be Austin and I anymore. The guys are tagging along as well."
"Um what?! No! They cant!"
"I don't know what happened but he just texted me saying the crew is going. I didn't want them to go because all of them together is going to end up disastrous."
"So true. I completely agree with you, don't get me wrong, but they are his best friends."
"Yes, I know and I don't want to come between their frienship by any means, it's just going to be difficult for Austin and I to reconnect with three other teenage, and slightly immature, boys by our side." I state
"I agree with you, but maybe it won't be so bad. Think about the positive side of this situation. You'll be okay, trust me, and if you need anyone to talk to, you know I'm always here for you darling."
"I am so grateful to have you Renee." A huge smile forms upon my lips.
"I love you." She extends the last word to result in us in complete laughter.
"Love you too." I respond still enjoying the laughter between us.
After telling her what time our flight was and where she should meet us to say goodbye in person, we hang up. I look up to see my dad standing in the living room.
"Almost done packing?" he asks.
"Yes I am."
"Well I guess let's start heading out. Don't want to miss your flight now." I leave to my room to retrieve my extremely heavy suitcase and duffle bag. I return to the living room where my father was waiting with the front door open. I carefully hand him my suitcase and duffle bag so he can put it in the car. He leaves me standing in the door way admiring the house one last time. I know I haven't lived here as long as my home in California but so much has happened within these walls and I will miss it dearly. Time for a new start.
I take a deep breath and walk outside, locking the door behind me. I join my dad in the car, buckling my seat belt.
"Where to?" he asks, starting the engine of the car.
"IHOP. Austin's favorite." I laugh. I quickly take out my phone to text Austin that we were headed to the restaurant already.
'I'm on my way to IHOP (:' I send.
'yay! we are too. cant wait! i miss you <3'
'i miss you too even though it's been only a few hours.'
'it's been like months really' My heart aches remembering the pain we both went through.
'i know but we'll be together again. <3'
By the time I look up we are pulling up into the parking lot of the restaurant. I see Austin's range rover in one parking space and I tell my dad that they are already here.
We park fairly close to Austin's car and climb out to enter the nearly empty building. As soon as I swing the door open, I locate the boys all sitting together in a booth in the corner of the room. My dad sweetly tells the hostess that were with them, and we start walking towards them.
Austin sees me walking and a pearly white smile appears on his face. He stands up waving at me, motioning us to join them. I feel my heart flutter when I see his beautiful smile and knowing I caused it.
"Hey babe!" Austin wraps his arms around my waist, bringing me into a tight hug.
"Hello sir." he says, offering his hand to my dad after we break out hug. I say my hello's to Robert, Zach and Alex and sit beside Austin and across from Robert.
Our waitress comes over and asks us for our orders.
"So are you excited that we're coming along?" Robert asks once the waitress leaves.
"Um yea! I had no idea you three would be coming at such a late notice." I say glancing over to Austin giving him a look.
"I'm sorry babe but I couldn't just leave them! They're my friends." He says smiling at me and placing his arm on my thigh.
I let out a soft sigh under my breath.
"I know. I'm happy you will be joining us." I say to them with a small smile. I can't be a debby downer the entire time so I am just going to have to suck it up and live with it.
Our breakfast is pretty quiet except for when the guys talk about how cute the waitress is and I roll my eyes constantly at their typical remarks. Within the middle of our breakfast, Michele comes in to join us.
"Hi guys! Sorry I'm late! I had to run some errands real quick!" I give her a hug as she makes her way around greeting everyone. She sits across from my dad as they converse the rules he had set about me.
After we all finish our breakfast, and payed we exit the IHOP. Austin takes ahold of my hand while walk to my car. I turn around to see Alex gagging with the guys. I laugh at their immature actions and lean closer to Austin just to annoy them.
Austin helps me into my car and we all take off to the airport. The drive to the airport is about an hour long and my mind begins to race with different thoughts and a few doubts. Will I be able to do this? Florida is a long away place from home. Will I become home sick? Will I be okay? My nerves get the best of me as my stomach clentches. I quickly tell my dad to pull over on the highway and I release the contents of my breakfast on the road. I don't know if I will be able to go along with this plan anymore.
