It was a cold day almost winter her cool green eyes searched around not for anything in particular just looking. She watched the lightly dusted trees sparkle and sway. The girl had dirty blonde hair, and green eyes with spots if brown. Then finally Someone appeared a tall guy with brownish blonde hair nice length a flippy style sort of. "ready?" he asked.
"Yes" The girl replied. They got into her truck and she started driving. "Where are we going?" said the boy.
"You'll see" she said with a hint of a smile.
"Please Amber!"
"It includes a climb but it's really pretty" was all she would tell him. They finally arrived and they were by the trail that led to the blackstreet stairs. Austin was surprised when she took him down the hill instead of around the top. "where are we going Amber?" Austin wondered.
"Up there" Amber pointed up a steep hill. Austin gave her a questioning look, then she pointed to a small pipe. "Your gunna have to hold the pipe and slightly climb and pull yourself up" She said.
"Okay" Austin agreed. They started there way up and were soon at the top. When they got there Austin was speechless.
"Beautiful isn't it?" Said Amber. Austin nodded. It was a fenced in area with a view of the small city below. Amber sat down and laid back to look at the stars, Austin joined her. Amber put her head on his chest and relaxed. He put his arm around her, she smiled. They weren't sure how long they laid there for but they realized they had to go. Amber led him to the side of the fence and went through a small hole. They barely got by it because of the steep hill by there backs. Amber led Austin to her truck and drove to his house.
"Do you wanna go watch a movie?" asked Austin.
"Sure." replied Amber. They went inside and Amber picked out a movie from the shelf she knew so well. Near the end Amber had fallen asleep and Austin slowly brought her to his room. He tucked her into his bed the way a parent would and kissed her forehead. He went downstairs and slept on the couch. In the morning Amber woke up and smiled at how Austin tucked her in. She smelled pancakes which are her favorite. Austin lived alone in a tiny condo he moved out of his parents house last year when he was only sixteen. Amber texted her mom to let her know she was at Austin's house. Ambers mom never really worried about Amber staying at Austin's house because he was very respectful. Amber slowly sneaked into the kitchen and jumped behind Austin "Boo" she smiled, grabbing his sides.
"Holy sh-" Austin saved himself from swearing. Amber smiled and accepted his hug from behind. She sat down at his table while he brought the pancakes over. While they were eating she thought about how they never kissed before and how much she realized she wanted to kiss him. Austin really wanted to kiss her too but he was just too shy to do it. So before he could get the next bite to his mouth Ambers lips were on his. He returned the kiss for a minute and then pulled back.
"Sorry Austin I just..." Amber broke off mid sentence.
"It's okay I really wanted to do that I'm just to shy." Austin said blushing.
Amber smiled and said "my mom wants me home soon."
"Kay" he said. They went out to her truck and she drove them home. Austin suddenly remembered that he left her car at her house the other day too. He quickly leaned over and kissed her cheek.
"Bye babe" Austin said.
"I'll text you later handsome" Amber said. She parked her truck and watched Austin drove away in his little blue car. She sighed and went inside.
"Hi mom, Hi dad" She said
"Hi sweetie" her parents said. Amber walked upstairs and into her room. She grabbed her phone out of her pocket and saw a text from her ex.
"Crap" She said to herself. The text said
"I know we broke up but I really want you back" She replied back a short answer explaining how her and Austin were together now. He replied saying that he didn't care and he would go deal with him. Ambers ex was six feet tall but Austin was easily six five ish. She called Austin telling him about it and he got quite angry. Austin said he would be over soon. She heard his car outside and she quietly went out because she wasn't supposed to go out anymore that day. "Austin I'm really nervous" she said getting into the car.
"Don't worry" he said "I will just tell him that you're with me now"
"Austin I already told him that and he ignored it" Austin sighed.
"Well then I'll just have to make him listen then." Amber shuddered at this thought she had seen Austin in a fight before and it didn't turn out very well. The kid Austin fought got his butt kicked really bad. Amber decided to try a different approach,
"Austin please don't hurt him."
"Why?" Austin asked.
"Remember what coach said? If you get into another fight he's gunna kick you off the team." Austin sighed again.
"Well I'm still going to talk to him and I can't promise I won't hit him." Austin said with a glare. Austin did a U-turn and brought Amber home.
"Austin I want to come with you to James's house."
"Fine" Austin said in a huff. It was a short drive to James's house without much talking. When they got there Amber kissed Austin for a minute.
"Remember, I love you." She said poking his chest with her index finger. Austin smiled and kissed her cheek quickly. They got out and Austin knocked on the door. James was home alone so he answered the door.
"James?" Austin asked.
"Yeah" James answered too casually. I stepped out from behind Austin.
"Amber?" James asked confused.
Then Austin said "Yeah she's with me now James" Austin said.
"Well I had her first" James said.
Austin sighed "Well she's with me now so you gotta get over it." James started yelling at Austin. So I decided before Austin could do anything I kissed him on the lips for a minute. He smiled and we went over to the car. James just cussed and went inside. Austin brought me home and I slowly and quietly went inside. I fell into my bed and fell asleep. In the morning I checked my phone and saw a good morning text from Austin like always. I smiled to myself and saw my mom in my doorway.
"Morning mom." I said.
She smiled " Good morning Amber." She said and walked away. Around lunch time I got a text from James it said,
"I'm coming to get you" I called for my mom right away, but there was no answer. I went downstairs and no one was there. I ran into my parents room and hid inside their closet. I heard a car pull up but I was to scared to move so I stayed put. I heard footsteps going towards my room upstairs. I held my breath and listened. I heard the door open slowly. I started shaking, with tears streaming down my face. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. I held my breath again.
They walked around the family room and over to my parents room. I heard the door squeak open.
The closet door slowly opened and I still tried to hide in the mass of clothes. I looked up and saw James standing there with a crooked smile.
"Found you." he said trying to grab me. I kicked and screamed. I clawed at his face and he punched my stomach. It knocked the wind out of me and I toppled backwards. Then I heard another car come into my driveway and James threw me into the closet and ran out of the house. I rubbed my head and cried. I looked up and saw someone in the doorway, then my vision blurred out.
I opened my eyes to see Austin holding me, sobbing and rubbing the bump on my head. I touched his face and he leaned down and kissed me.
