Dread In My Dreams

The food on the table was nothing like the food in the dinning hall and the room was filled with no emotion. It was like everyone in the room was depressed I couldn't stay in that room any longer so I dismissed myself. When I got into my room I noticed a book called the light and dark protector and as I flipped through the pages I noticed that I was the protector and can't be destroyed if I am destroyed then darkness and light will be destroyed. I am the one who balances it all out then I hear a knock on my door. '' Mind if I come in.'' a familiar voice said '' No'' he walked in and said '' Why did you leave.''  I was afraid to answer because a boy with so much light in him was so dark but I just said '' When you eat is it always so depressing... I mean it was so quit.''

He just looked at me thinking about his answer and said '' Well when you live in darkness what do you suppose we say.'' the anger in his voice made me feel a little scared  for asking. ''Sorry...I didn't mean to upset you.'' he just looked at me again  then looked away and  stuttered,'' It's...It's  not your falt you were only asking a question.'' The room was silent then Riven said,'' Can I tell you something?'' I nodded in response then he started saying,'' Have you ever felt like there was more for you to do in your life instead of walking around in everyone's depression. I mean I  just wish sometimes that light and dark could come together in peace and now that your here I finally have hope. I've waited for you all my life you can make me something. You can make my dreams come true.''

I was hanging on his last few words staring in disbelief.'' Why tell me this and not someone you actually like. Maybe your father, mother, or even your girlfriend or something. Why me'' '' Well'' he started'' You are the girl that I've been waiting for the girl that with make peace with our cities doesn't it seem right to tell you. Also my father would scold me for such a wish and my mother wouldn't give the least bit of care about me.'' '' What about your girlfriend?'' I asked,'' Well I don't have one and even if I did then why should I have told her lot's of people around here don't care about dreams and if you told someone your dreams then they would probably send someone out to crush them.''

''Oh'' I said both shocked and amazed '' But I wouldn't crush them so you told me. You seem more light than you dark. You seem like there is so much hope in one small world.'' He seemed surprised by my answer but nodded in agreement. '' Well I better go a princes duties are never done.'' He smiled at me and turned to leave '' Riven'' I say and he immediately turns around,'' Thank you for telling me your dreams, glad I could help a friend.'' He smiled and walked out of the room leaving me on my bed. I collapsed on my bed and fell asleep.
