I was soon stripped with everything I had, even my clothes and they replaced those with scrubs. I got mad and just when I was going to strike back on them, three men came into the room.
"Come with us." They said.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because you need to,"
Pretty soon I was being dragged down hallway; again. "Get in here, now." One man pushed me towards a door with a lock on it. Fascinating.
The door opened slowly, and I got shoved in. "Hope you get cozy." and with that, the door closed and I heard a click.
I stood in a room that had a beige color to it. The walls looked like one big mattress, and there was a chair in the center of the room. I walked over to the chair and looked at it, then I walked over to the walls and pushed, pushed as hard as I could, just to get out of here.
Was this it? Was I losing it? Am I even a spy, or am I just a regular person going crazy? I sat in the chair, and screamed as loud as I could, hoping that Cristiano was alive, that he wasn't the victim of the shooting, and that he came to rescue me, in this living nightmare. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
*****
The next day, or when I woke up, there was a note on the carpet by the door. I walked over and picked it up.
Via,
I hope you get this note. The Blue Sapphires have been under attack for two days now, and we need you to come back with the blue sapphire or we will have to surrender to the Talaat group. You and Cristiano need to work together to find the blue sapphire; NOW!
Sky, Amber, and Indie
I put the letter down. The nurses probably got it in there some how, the letter addressed to me, and they knew I was here. I got up and walked over to the door.
"Help me!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. I banged on the door as hard as I could. It was no use. I fell to the floor and cried as loud as I could. I really was losing it. So, I decided to go back to sleep.
*****
Years later I was walking in the base, with Indie. Jeff ran up to me and shouted something, but I couldn't hear because something was muffling his voice. I turned around and saw people with guns. They started shooting.
I ran away, but heard a faint scream. Indie and Amber and Sky were being captured; guns held up against their foreheads. I turned to get them but someone grabbed my arm, it was Cristiano. I looked at him. I looked at my friends.
I ran to my friends, but he held his grip. I dragged him with me, but someone stepped in front of me. She held up her gun and cocked it. She shot. I saw nothing but blackness.
*****
I woke to a white ceiling, remembering that I was in the room. I crawled to the door, and looked for an escape. I saw nothing at first, but then I looked at the lock for some reason. It had a security camera on it. I couldn't believe my eyes.
I grabbed the handle and pulled. It didn't budge. I started kicking at it, and my feet were aught to get bruised. Eventually, the knob busted, and I ran out.
Nurses lunged at me, but I ran full speed. I turned a corner and saw the exit. I ran faster than I ever could. I saw papers flying and nurses trying to catch me, I heard nurses and doctors yelling and screaming stop. I ran out to the side walk and kept running. I heard someone yell,
"Help! A psycho is on the loose!" People started to shriek and hug their children close.
Are you kidding me?
I ran about three blocks until I was sure I was safe. I looked back to see if anyone followed me. I closed my eyes, breathed hard, and remembered my nightmare I had in the box room. Was this my future? No, it couldn't be.
I needed to find Cristiano, so I tried to find him.
I started jogging to the block then looked at the street sign. I kept looking down the alleys until I saw a different alley. I walked down the alley, and heard a faint whisper and turned around. Nobody. Then the whisper came again, only louder. I walked four steps back and looked down an alley. I walked towards a fence that went behind a building.
When or if I saw Cristiano, what would I do? Would I walk up to him and give him a slug for running away? Would I kill him? No, I couldn't. That would be wrong.
I walked along the fence, and then heard the whisper again.
"Over the fence." It said. I looked up. It had to be at least ten feet tall. "Really?" I said, thinking 'it' would answer back. I put my foot on one part of the fence and gripped it with all my strength.
Once I climbed to the top, I got ahold of the top securely, and jumped. I landed with a hard thump sucked in a bunch of air.
I turned around to take a look at my surroundings. Tall grass loomed over what seemed like a bottomless pit of earth. I started walking.
"Via!" I spun around. Cristiano stood across the yard, tied up to a pole; his arms were free and so was his mouth. I ran over to him, stopped, and didn't realize what to do. I tried wriggling the rope down his torso. Talaat didn't seem to know how to tie ropes.
Once he was free, I pulled him close and hugged him.
"I'm so glad I found you!" I practically yelled. "I have so much to tell you!"
"Me too." Cristiano looked at me. "You first." Okay. I thought for a moment to gather everything to my brain.
"Okay. First, I woke up and realized you weren't there, then I went to look for you, but saw a crime scene where someone got shot. Since you were missing, I figured you were the victim. So I asked people questions, but a man pulled me around a corner and put me in his car. He took me to the NYMH, New York Mental Hospital." I paused.
"Really?" Cristiano said. "How?"
"I really don't know...Anyway, some nurses asked me personal questions then put me in a box room, for about three days. I finally managed to escape, and I ran to you." I looked him in the eye. He looked at my clothing. I pursed my lips. "I found a drawing of myself. Was it you?" "Maybe..." Cristiano stuttered. "...Yes" I fake smiled. We stared at each other for what seemed like eternity.
"Oh, well," He changed the subject. "I heard the Blue Sapphire is somewhere down in this basement of that building." He said pointing.
*****
We got down in the basement and looked around.
"There it is!" I whispered. A blue sapphire sat on a stand, shining in its own light. We walked over and grabbed it.
Sirens went off. Lots of sirens.
"Run!" I shouted. We ran to the set of stairs leading to the main level. We heard shouting coming from the room behind us. I sprinted through the doors and out to the street, I didn't stop. Gun shots rang in my ears as I ran through the busy street.
"Via Stop!" I heard Cristiano yell far behind me. I stopped and looked back. Cristiano had knocked out both guys that came after us. He was waving me over. I had to get out of New York.
"Come over here, quick!" Cristiano screamed as he looked at something in front of me. A bus was coming, fast.
