- Nagisa's POV -
The two argued and I'm surprised Karma hasn't gone violent. I know he's changed after everything that's happened, but still.
"You guys! Stop fighting!" Rio's brother commanded as soon as Kayano lied her hands on Karma's. "We're almost at your house Karma, so I hope you didn't lose your keys beating up those pedophiles."
I brought my hands to my ears as soon as I heard those words.
'Please, let this be a dream I'll wake up from. I don't even care if I wake up with bruise on my cheek! Or even a dress covering my feminine body. Just, I don't want this.'
I felt the car stop and Rio's brother taking Karma's keys to open the garage door.
"Nagisa, tell her."
"Don't please. Unless you actually wanna," Kayano placed her finger on my lips. I nodded my head at her and looked at Karma's flaring eyes.
"I'm not gonna tell her Karma. S-Sorry."
"Tsk," that sound rung throughout the car as he opened his door to go inside. Me and Kayano did the same, her giving me a smile as she held the door open.
She tapped my shoulder as we were heading inside. "Don't let Karma get to your head, there's nothing you can say that'll make me not wanna be your friend. Or, maybe something a but mor-"
"C'mon you two! Move those midget legs over here!" Yelled a frustrated Karma. We moved to the door and I was greeted with a lot of red as usual.
"Yeah, this is Karma's house alright," Kayano started while walking around. Her pigtails bounced a bit as she took each step.
Rio's brother left as we all settled down on one couch that formed a hemisphere. I sat in the middle with Kayano on my left and Karma on my right.
"K-Karma. Thanks for saving us back there, I m-mean it," I thanked him while playing with my fingers. He mumbled something to himself that I couldn't hear. It, bothered me I must admit.
"Did you say something Karma?" My green-haired friend asked.
He sighed and looked at her directly.
The lump in my throat rose as my heart started to beat faster and faster, preparing myself for the absolute worst.
"Kayano, Nagisa right here has been suffering through abuse from his mother. That's what he didn't want to tell you on the ride here."
"Karma!" I yelled to him, pulling my fingernails away from my lips and standing up. He did the same.
"W-Wha..." Kayano was surprised for sure. Her eyes were open wide as her pupils were two times smaller. "N-Nagisa. That's not true, it's it?" She grabbed my shirt as her weight shifted onto the floor.
I looked at her worryingly since she looked like she was about to faint. "N-No. It's no-" I was rudely interrupted with the slam of a large hand on my cheek. The impact caused me to roll onto the couch. I rubbed the spit to see a furious Karma.
"You jerk! Don't lie to her!" He rubbed his hand like it hurt him. His eyes grew softer as Kayano glared at me, like she hated me.
"N-Nagisa. Why didn't you tell me about this? If anything, why you tell Karma and not me?" She undid her pigtails as her bright green hair flew beyond her shoulders. "Why?"
"I.... I didn't want it to come to this. I'm fine with being hit, crossdressing, and even getting bullied for all of these as long as you guys didn't get involved. I didn't want you guys to pity me or anything. And, even if I were to tell you, I don't see how I'd bring it up in a normal conversation. I'm sorry, Kayano," I answered, a tear falling onto my red cheek.
