Chapter 13: Taken

Laza's POV

I walked through Coruscant with a strange feeling. I felt like I was being surrounded by darkness. The sun was setting as I walked home. Anakin was staying late because there was an "urgent council meeting and it wouldn't start until I was out of the temple." Master Windu is very pushy.

It was completely dark now. Ugh, I wish we lived closer.

I felt the presence of someone behind me. I turned around and felt a hand go over my mouth and then something else grabbed my hands and feet. My weapons were dropped on the ground.

I was pulled into an alley and I heard a familiar voice, Ziro the Hutt.

"Hello," he said.

The creature moved its hand so I could talk. "Exactly how did you escape prison?"

"Killing people isn't hard at all," he laughed.

"And why are you taking me?" I asked angrier.

"A favor for Darth Enpress," he replied.

Of course... Empress.

"Nothing personal but..." Ziro started and hit me with a metal object causing me to black out.

Anakin's POV

I left the temple after the council meeting was over. It was things about the war as usual. I walked in the dark and I almost tripped on something, Laza's weapons?

I grabbed them and ran to the temple in search of Obi Wan.

"Anakin what's the matter," he asked.

"Something terrible has happened to Laza, someone took her I know it!" I said.

"Her weapons were just in the middle of the sidewalk?" He asked.

"Yeah," I replied.

"Who could've taken her?" He asked.

"Empress but she's no where near Coruscant," I said.

"Ziro!" He said sounding frustrated.

"He's in prison," I said.

"No he escaped earlier," he told me.

"We have to find him," I said.

"Yeah, he's probably giving Laza to Darth Empress so she won't kill him," he added.

"We have to hurry Empress will kill her the second she lays eyes on her!" I said.

"I know but where would they take her?" He added.

"Either directly to Empress, the Citadel, or someplace else to torture her," I guessed.

"Most likely the citadel so she's weakened up for the Sith Lord," Obi Wan said.

We explained the circumstances to the council and we decided that Obi Wan, clones, Artoo, and I would go to the Citadel.

Artoo programmed more battle droids so we could get through the system. And the rest of us would be in carbonite freeze. Captain Plo was coming as well.

"Ready Master," Ahsoka said ready to go into carbonite.

"No, you aren't coming, we've already had this issue," I instructed.

"I'm coming," she said.

"No you aren't," I demanded.

"Are you two gonna argue or save General Starkiller? Just let her come she'll be fine with us," Captain Plo said.

"Fine. But if you cause trouble..." I warned.

"I know, I know," she said just before we were froze into the carbonite.
