How Does He Know?

“Why don’t you want to walk home again?” Taylor said curiously, once again asking about my need to get my aunt to pick me up.

“I’m tired and to be honest, I just can’t be bothered…”I said yawning.

“Ok fair enough, by the way Dylan went off today saying he had to go to the English department and when I went there I couldn’t find him...do you know where he was?” She asked. I gulped and exhaled.

“Why are you asking me?” I said, trying to keep everything from spilling out.

“You went to do homework right?” She said raising an eyebrow.

“Yeah…”

“Well, I thought you would’ve seen him,”

“Oh, well I didn’t sorry,” I said while nervously chuckling.

“You’re a weird kid Angel,” She laughed. If only she knew.

“You could say that,” I waggled my eyebrows.

“Anyway, see you tomorrow yeah?”

“Of course,” Taylor embraced me in a hug, she smelt of mint chocolate, then she let go and waved goodbye as she walked out the school gates.

I stood there waiting. Aunt Kate wasn’t really an organised person. Actually that’s an understatement; time had to be her worst enemy. She didn’t care about time as long as she did what she wanted and lived calmly she didn’t give two poops about it. I knew it would be a long time before she’d decide to turn up so I decided to recap my day.

1.       Got detention.

2.       Got tickled and kissed by Lucas Parker

3.       Made Lucas feel really awkward and I ended up feeling terrible

4.       Nearly told Taylor about Dylan

5.       Dylan pissed me off

6.       Had a decent conversation with Lucas

7.       Made out with Lucas

8.       Dylan caught me and Lucas making out

9.       Jessica sends frightening messages

10.   Waiting for Katie to pick me up

What a productive day. I sighed and found a nearby bench to sit on. I flicked through my IPod, trying to find a good book to read. I was more of a thriller girl but couldn’t forget a bit of romance, I mean who could blame me? All these people falling in ‘love’ and writing about it on Facebook, taking pictures with their boyfriends and girlfriends and don’t get me started on the amount of songs based around the subject. To be honest, I wasn’t those people who completely despised love and couldn’t stand to be around it but if a couple were making put in front of me for more than five minutes I wouldn’t question giving them a little piece of my mind. I took my mind off the subject and concentrated on my IPod when I felt a taps on my shoulder. I slowly put my device in my pocket and turned round to see Bethany. Her eyes looked like they were filled with fury and her body language looked un-easy but everything made sense when she went to slap me. Luckily, I have had experience and ducked the attack and stood to face her.

“What’s your problem?” I shouted.

“Don’t touch what is not yours,” She said calmly but her cheeks flushed red from the embarrassment that she had missed.
