Ariana's POV

"So your mom knows now?" Ashley says.

"Yeah. Its not a big deal though."

"There's someone at the door." Justin says.

"Well why don't they ring the doorbell?" I ask.

"I don't know. She's just standing there." I turn around to look out the window and see Jennifer.

"That evil snitch." I stand up and walk to the door, opening it.

"Hello Ariana."

"What do you want?"

"Your mother told me to stop watching you."

"I know that."

"I wanted to know why you told her to tell me that."

"Because you were getting on my nerves. Anything else?"

"Yes, actually,-"

"I think one of your cats is calling you."

"Huh?" She turns around and I slam the door.

"Ariana!" Ashley gasps.

"What?"

"Oops. That was my arm. I can't control it."

"You know sometimes you can be a real brat."

"Its not my fault she gets on my nerves. You can go talk to her if you want."

"I will." Ashley goes to open the door and Jennifer smiles.

"I'm here to Ariana."

"I know. She doesn't want to talk right now."

"I'm not talking to her ever!" I yell, walking into the living room.

"Sorry. Maybe come back another time."

"Maybe come back never!" Justin chuckles while Jessica turns on the TV.

"Again, I'm sorry about her. She's a lot to handle."

"I agree." Justin says.

I roll my eyes and Ashley walks back in.

"She's mad at you."

"And I care why?"

"Ariana, stop being so high maintenance. You are not a princess!"

"How am I being high maintenance by saying I don't like her?"

"You could've at least said I don't want to talk right now. You didn't have to slam the door in her face."

"You could've at least stopped trying to run my life. I don't need your help."

"Obviously you do. Ariana, you don't have a very good attitude."

"Get out." I whisper.

"What?"

"I said get out!"

"Oh sure. Chase me away just like you did your dad and your brother." She covers her mouth and I look up at her.

I stand up, wiping away the tears already running down my face.

"Wait, Ariana, no. I didn't-"

"I never thought one of my best friends would stoop so low." I run to my room and slam the door.

Justin's POV

"What just happened?"

"I dont have the right to tell you. Go ask Ariana." Jessica says, walking to Ashley.

"Ok then." I walk upstairs and knock on Ariana's door.

I hear her crying but there's no response.

"Ariana, can I come in?"

"That depends. Are you that backstabbing ex-friend from downstairs?"

"I don't think so."

"Then yes." I open the door and walk to her bed.

"So, are you gonna tell me what that was about."

"Do you want to know?"

"Kind of." She sits up and looks at me, wiping her face with a tissue.

"I'm not telling you the whole story. I don't feel like it. The day before my first day of Pre-K, my dad took my brother and left. Then I met Ashley and Jessica and they made me feel better. The end."

"Ok, umm, short story. I'm sorry about that, though. I understand why you came up here now. She shouldn't have said that."

"Oh really? You'd be surprised that I was thinking the same thing." She says sarcastically.

"I guess the other Ariana's back." I say.

"You could say that was your doing."

"I don't know if that's a good thing."

"Shut up." She punches me in the arm, laughing.

"Feel better now?"

"Sure."
