Ash's p.o.v.

From Derek:
Don't you have Cheer practice today?

To Derek:
Yes. don't you have football practice?

From Derek:
Yes, what time does your cheer practice end?

To Derek:
Around 5 I think. Yours?

From Derek:
Mine ends 5:30. ☹️ wait for me? I'll drive you home and reward you?

To Derek:
You're my ride home, I have to ether way. The rewarding part sounds delightful. 🙂 what do you have in mind?

From Derek:
Many things Mami. You and me, my bed or yours, maybe mine since you have full house.

To Derek:
Sounds lovely. 🙃 I'll wait.

"Who you texting that has you smiling?" Scott asks.

"Derek, he's hilarious." I smile.

"So you and him?" He ask.

"What about me and him?" I ask.

"You guys a thing?" He asks.

"We're friends." I smile tightly. "I seen you and Gwen." I flip the card on him.

"Just fooling around." He shrugs off.

"I thought you were different Scott. I didn't expect this from you." I say.

"I did too." Scott says.

"Excuse me?" I ask.

"Please Ash, you and Derek? How long is that going to last? He's going to fuck you and get tired, drop you like nothing." He says. "He sees you as a prize, he'll probably work for you make you feel special, one of a kind then he'll brag about banging you." He whispers.

"Shut up Scott." is all I can make out, I'm shocked by his words.

"You don't like what I'm saying cause it's true and you know it." Scott chuckles.

"And what did you intend to do to me?" I ask. "Make me feel special, bring chocolates and a teddy bear when I need someone, or think I need someone. Then make me yours and this is probably all a game to you. So shut your mouth." I say walking away from him.

"You're going to get hurt Ash." He screams after me.

"Well if I do it's my problem." I scream.

I'm waiting on Derek since he's is my ride home. He sees you as a prize, he'll probably work for you make you feel special, one of a kind then he'll brag about banging you. Scotts words keep playing in my head and maybe he's right. Maybe I am a prize to Derek, it's all just a game to him. When he gets me wrapped around his fingers he'll play, play with me and then drop me like I'm nothing, just like he dropped Gwen. You don't like what I'm saying cause it's true and you know it. Maybe Scott is right. I let him in my head.

"Hey." Derek embraces me in a hug.

"Hey you." I whisper.

"Everything okay?" He asks.

"Yeah." I say giving him a smile.

"Come on let's go home." Hopefully he didn't see through me.

"Do you want to finish the packet now?" I ask as we're getting off his car.

"Yeah." He says.

"Mine or yours?" I ask.

"Yours." He smiles.

"Alright." I smile, I genuinely smile. "Shouldn't you tell your mother you're at my place?" I ask.

"She probably already knows." He motions to his mom looking through the window. I wave and give her a smile, she waves back at me with a big smile, plastered on her face.

"Told you." He laughs.

"We should finish this work." I say.

"Yeah, it's due on Wednesday ether way." He says.

"I don't like to procrastinate." I look at him.

"Ugh good girl." He groans.

"Not in bed." I smirk as I run up the stairs of the porch, unlocking the front door. Derek and I quickly slip in.

"Mom I'm home." I announce.

"In the kitchen." She screams. I place my backpack on the sofa and make my way to the kitchen.

"Mom Derek came over to finish some homework." I say.

"Alright, oh is it that packet thingy?" She asks.

"Yeah, how'd you know?" I ask.

"Cause Sam and Ash were working on it earlier with Andres." She says.

"Ohh, well Derek and I are going to finish it in the living room." I say.

"Alright sweetie. If you need anything I'm in my room, your siblings are out." She says. "Ohh yeah and Andres is out with Delany, lovely girl, maybe even better than Beth." My mom says walking up the stairs eating popcorn.

"Did I really just hear, my sister is out with your brother?" Derek asks.

"Yeah. Maybe they're just friends." I shrug.

"If they date, we can see each other much more." He smirks.

"Let's not get carried away." I laugh.

"Did she compare my sister to an ex of your brothers?" He asks.

"Yeah, she's Scott older sister. Bethany, good girl from time to time. I didn't really like them dating, though." I say.

"Really why's that?" He asks taking out his packet.

"Andres, he was really into her. She on the other hand, it didn't look like if she was, long story short they broke up." I say.

"We should get started on this packet." Derek says.

"Yeah we should." I smile.
