Books on night stands

Nessa p.o.v.

I sit on Sebs couch, the door to his bedroom is open.

"You don't have to stay in the living room." I hear him say.

"I'm fine here." I say.

"I don't think you'll be fine on my couch." He says. I understand what he means and get up quickly. "I'm lonely in this room come join me." He says.

"Sebs" I warn as he's pushing it. I make my way to his bedroom.

"You can lay down I won't try anything." He says scooting over. I take a seat. "It feels like we're back in college." He says.

"It does." I say. "I remember staying up with you making sure you didn't choke on your vomit." I say.

"I do too." He says. I take of my shoes and lay on the bed. "Good night Nessa." He says.

"Good night Sebs." I say. I pull the blanket on I close my eyes for a little bit.

I wake up to someone one vomiting. Shit it's Sebs. I quickly get up and go to the bathroom and to check on him. He's throwing up on the toilet. I rub his back. "I'm never drinking again." He says once he's done. I nod my head, a smile plays on my face. He brushes his teeth and rinses his mouth with scope.

"Let's get you to bed." I whisper. We make our way back to his bedroom.

"Thank you for taking care of me." He whispers. "I know you have better things to do." He says.

"Just shut up." I say. He nods his head. I check my phone and it's five-thirty in the morning. Mike is getting in at seven-thirty.

Hey babe I won't be able to make it today. I have something important I have to deal with. Call me as soon as you land.

Sebs is laying down and he goes back to sleep. I can't go back to sleep so I end up reading one of his books from his night stands. It makes me smile, he still keeps books on his night stand. I remember he would get mad at me for leaving books on the night stand but it slowly became one of his habits.

"Nessa do you really have to have books on the night stand?" He asks.

"Yes, What if I get bored?" I ask smiling.

"I place my cups there and what if I knock it over and ruin your books?" He asks.

"Then you better pray you're carful." I warm teasingly.

"That's why you place them in the drawer of the night stand." He says.

"No you place your books there." I say. I pull him into a kiss. "You wouldn't want me to steal your spot." I say.

"I don't mind sharing anything with you Nessa." He kisses me.

"I'm still keep my book on top of the night stand." I say.

"I didn't think that would change." He says pulling me into another kiss.

My phone goes off, it's Mike as expected.

"Hey." I answer going to the living room.

"Hey are you okay? Is your family okay?" He asks. Mike asks making my heart flutter.

"Yes Mike, my family and I are okay. It's just something came up and I really need to stay to help out. Andres needs me." I say.

"What happened?" He asks.

"Lacey and his daughter is alive. I need to be there for him. If he goes into court I need to be there for him. He's trying to avoid going to court." I say.

"This really sucks, you guys just got out of a court battle." Mike says. "I understand baby, be there for Andres send him my greetings and I wish everything goes well. I love you and take care, my family is here."

"I love you and take care. Send your family my greetings and my love." I say.

"I will." He says before hanging up.

"Nessa?" I hear a scared Sebs.

"Sebs?" I turn around to find a scared Sebs. His eyes are red, he looks so scared. He makes his way to me and hugs me. I don't ask anything I just hug him. I feel him cry and I just hold him.

"I didn't mean to keep you away from Mike." He says.

"It's fine Sebs, I was staying anyways. Lacey and Andres." I say.

"What's going on?" He asks.

"How do you not have a hangover?" I ask.

"I was blessed by god today?" He shrugs.

"You should be punished. Andres is talking to Lacey about their daughter. If everything goes well for Andres than we won't have to go to court. Andres also has to tell Janell." I say. He nods his head.

"I should be there for him." He says.

"He just needs you not to drink and make a fool of yourself and he'll be thankful." I say. He nods his head. "We can go to my house and wait for Andres." I suggest.

"That's a good idea. I'm go change." He says going into his bedroom.
