Amelia eased the door closed, as she entered her house. Garth walked in, "Amelia," he said in a panicked tone, and switched to a commanding tone, "we're leaving. Pack your bags."
Soon Trudy walked in with a sheepish smile, "What he means to say is, isn't this exciting? We're finally moving out of this small town!"
Amelia began to interject, but she just shook her head as if to shake out the thought. She dropped her bag and sat down at the nearby dining table, "Sit down," Amelia smiled, "I've got something to tell you."
Her parents looked to each other and then sat down around the table.
Trudy's brow creased, "Amelia what's wrong?"
Amelia didn't say anything, "I was attacked in the woods, by a, well, uh, a, a," she shrugged, "a werewolf. I know you think I'm crazy, but I have something to prove it!"
Trudy stood up and banged her knee on the table. She flinched but then ignored it, "Where did you see them?" Trudy asked.
Garth stood up, "Were they in a pack?" Trudy spoke up again, "Did they harm you?"
Amelia stood up with rage, "You know about them?"
Trudy sat down, and then Amelia did. Trudy smiled sheepishly, "No."
Amelia scoffed, "You do." Trudy looked to Garth. Then they looked to Amelia.
Garth nodded, "We're werewolves, too." Trudy nodded, "You might be."
Amelia shook her head rapidly, "Why don't our eyes shine red like the other werewolves?"Trudy began to explain, "After your first transformation into a wolf, they start to shine. If you stop transforming, within two years they'll stop shining."
Amelia turned her head away from her parents, "Why haven't you told me?"
Garth frowned, "You seemed to be happy, being normal."
Amelia stood up and slammed her hands on the table, "Normal! I've had to run into the the woods so I could feel /normal/!"
Trudy looked to Garth, "You knew she was sneaking off? Now that the rogue's-"
Garth looked at Trudy, "She's part wolf! It's her nature! We can't hold her back!"Trudy scoffed, "We could! If you tried!" Amelia sat down, "Wait! What are rogues?"
Trudy looked to Amelia, "Nothing. Go pack!" Amelia began to ask again, but Trudy repeated with more force, "Go pack! Now!"
Amelia huffed and stormed toward her room. She looked at the picture beside her bed. Which was of her friends, Adam, and Daria, with her out in town.
She sat on her bed and stroked the picture. Amelia heard Trudy packing, and she set down the picture. She grabbed her red jacket and opened her window. She zipped out and ran toward the woods.
Once there she frantically looked around, "Blade? Darren?" she called out.
Slight fear arose when a twig broke behind her. Blade's deep voice broke the silence, "It's Alpha Darren. Good thing I'm not him. Now, what do you want, human?"
Amelia corrected him, and turned around to face him, "My parents are werewolves, why won't I be?"Blade smirked, "They raised you when they were already living in the human world. Good possibility that they, and you, have pushed your primal drive so far back, that it isn't even there anymore."
Amelia ignored this, as it wasn't the point of her visit, "What are rogues?"
Blade tensed and relaxed, "I don't know what you mean."
Amelia frowned, "Come on! What are they!" Blade ignored her question, "So, dad and mom haven't told you everything?"
Amelia clenched her fists, "Come on Blade!"
Blade laughed, "Okay, okay, Scaredy Cat. Rogue wolves are just that. We, pack wolves, know the balance of humans. We don't reveal ourselves, and don't hurt them. We distance ourselves."
Amelia nodded, "And the rogues?"
Blade frowned, "Loner wolves, they respect the balance. But rogues," he said and shook his head disgustedly, "they don't care either way. They'll reveal themselves, they'll hunt humans."
Some dark, and demonic laughing came from a nearby bush. Soon a girl, with red hair, pale skin, and red eyes stepped out.
The girl looked around Amelia's age, and the girl introduced herself, "Lacey at your service." she said with a smirk.
Blade stepped in front of Amelia, and let out a wolf growl, "Lacey, the rogue leader."
