The sun shined through her window. Amelia had a streak of sun hit into her eyes.
She tossed onto her other side, and ignored the sun.
Her mother knocked on the door, "Sweetie," she said hushed, "are you awake yet?"
Amelia knew if she didn't reply, her mother would storm in and wake her. Amelia groggily answered, "Yeah," and she leaned up, and yawned, "yeah, I'm awake."
Her mother said, "You'll miss breakfast if you don't hurry."
Amelia sighed and rubbed her eyes. She swung her feet onto the icy wood floor.
She got into her dresser and pulled out a blue flannel crop top, and some blue jeans.
She showered, and combed down her messy hair. She made her way into the dining area.
She dug into the food with her family. Her father finished first and grabbed his briefcase, which was resting on a counter. He opened the door and waved to his family, "Love you guys, see you this evening."
Amelia waved, "Love you." Trudy copied Amelia's actions and words.
Amelia finished and grabbed her backpack, "Bye mom."
Trudy looked up from her food, "Want me to drive you today? It's a bit wet outside."
Amelia usually ran to school, unless it was really wet, or really hot.
Amelia peeked out through the curtains, and looked back to her mother. She shook her head, "No thanks."
She heaved her backpack onto her shoulders lazily.

The dirt path is for hikers, and it leads to the sidewalk in front of the school, but most kids drive/walk on the paved road.
Her black converses hit the dirt path which created impressions in the mud.
She looked over from her tracks and saw a different pair.
She leaned down and studied the track. She let out a slight curious, "Hmm?"
She leaned down more, and it was much easier to tell. A canine. A large, large canine! It's paw print was as large as her footprint.
Her eyes widened, "Whoa..." she said with shock. Animals aren't really common around the town. Not any wolves or coyotes. The largest game they have is deer. Nothing carnivorous!Amelia uncomfortably continued, and began wondering if she was alone. Before she knew it, the road was right in front of her and a car swerved as it rounded her curb.
Amelia sighed as kids began crowded into the doors. She shuffled into the crowd, and into the halls.
"Amelia!" shouted a boy from the end of the hall. His hand was waving crazily, "Amelia, guess what!" he exclaimed as he brushed past many people to get to her.
Amelia closed the locker door and turned to him, "What Adam?" she asked.
His black hair was combed neatly down, creating a small shining look. Adam quickly said, "There's been talk about somethings in the woods!"
Amelia's eyes were widened, "Last night," she hushed her voice down, "last night I felt something watching me."
Adam's icy blue eyes flickered with worry, "You shouldn't go out there anymore."
Amelia started down the hall, "Did the stories say what this /thing/ was?"
Adam followed, "That's the thing! No one knows! No one can see it, it's only glimpses!"
Amelia chuckled, "Yeah, sorry, I don't believe I'm going to stop going," she stopped at her classroom's door, "into the woods."
