Jasmine's POV

After the concert, I felt like it was a waste to just fly home the next day and not really get to spend any time with Lacey. I still missed being with her all the time from when she spent the week in Florida, so I thought why not stay the week? Lacey warned me she'd have to convince her mom- her mum- but I knew it would be no big deal. After all, your friend from America only comes to visit once every so often.

I really was genuinely excited to spend the week with Lacey, even if she insisted on still going to school every day, so I'm not really sure what's been putting me on edge. Whenever Lacey tries to talk to me about something serious, I just get this overwhelming feeling of- I don't know what! That's what so frustrating, I don't even know what's making me act this way. When I speak to Lacey, it's like hearing someone else speak in my voice. Someone mean. And I don't like it one bit.

Just that Wednesday, Lacey was asking me about which outfit she should wear to this little get together Michael wants to do while 5sos is still in town (I can't believe I can just say that so casually now, wow) and I practically bit her head off. It was unreal.

"Hey Jaz, what do you think? Black shorts or blue shorts with this top?" Lacey held up some royal blue high waist-ed shorts and some plain black shorts, both of which went with this new tank top she'd ordered online that was black and said 'band trash' in these royal blue bubble letters. I didn't really know which shorts would go better, but I also found myself not really caring. Why? I love clothes!

"I don't care, just wear whichever are more comfortable I guess," I didn't really want to think about the whole event anyway. Seeing Michael again just didn't sound like a lot of fun if he was just going to fawn over Lacey the whole time. I kinda wished Lacey would leave me alone about the whole ordeal.

"Ugh, what is with you? All I asked is which shorts you like better! You're miss fashionista, so I just wanted your opinion!" She threw the clothes on her bed more violently than necessary and then stomped back to her closet.

"Nothing's with me! All I said was that I don't really care!" I defended. Why was she being so hostile and forceful? Couldn't she see that I didn't want to be bothered about it? Couldn't she see that I didn't even really want to go?

"That's the problem, Jasmine. It's unlike you not to care about clothes. Especially my clothes. You're so quick to tell me if I look too tacky or too matronly when we're on FaceTime. You're just not acting yourself and it's got me worried," she finally finished, now pulling out some different black shorts, but these were cut offs and ripped to shreds. They'd look atrocious with such a clean, simple top like that, but at this point I wasn't going to comment on it.

"I just don't want you pestering me all the time about Michael this, Michael that! It's annoying! I told you that yesterday!" I retaliated. Lacey may be my best friend, but she still can't just push me around and make me feel bad for her when I just don't feel like talking.

"All I did was ask you which outfit to wear!" She threw the other black shorts across the room accidentally as she flailed her arms about for emphasis. I fought laughter. It was hard, but I kept a straight face.

"And I told you I don't care!" Unfortunately since Lacey lives there, I was forced to be the one to storm out. I guess it's another lonely trip to Starbucks and a walk in the park for me. Their Starbucks is good here in Sydney, now I know why Lacey always made it seem like everyone hangs around there.

And so, for the second time that week, I stomped out of the room and slammed the door behind me, leaving while I still had the last word. But, I must admit I did start laughing silently at Lacey accidentally throwing her clothes all over the place as soon as her door closed. That girl is a hoot.

Michael's POV

"We just think it might be better to not invite everyone at the same time, mate," Calum said. The band was trying to intervention me or something about taking everyone out to lunch on Sunday. I don't know why they want to ruin my plans for asking Lacey to be my girlfriend in front of all her friends, but for some reason they all seem to feel really strongly about it.

"Why though? You guys just keep repeating yourselves over and over again. Why do you want to change all my plans so badly?" Their faces sorta softened when they saw how much I really wanted to do this. Good. They should feel bad for being so confusing. Getting up the courage to even ask the girl was already stress enough.

"Listen," Ashton sat down on the couch in my mum's living room with the rest of us just like we used to when we had band practice here. Man, this place brought back memories. I smiled then for a second, just at the thought of skinny little Ashton in his purple t shirt. What a derp. "when we were back stage, we saw the way that Al kid was staring at you."

"He didn't like it when you hugged Lacey the first time-"

"Or the second time," Calum interrupted Luke. Luke just stared at him before he continued.

"Or the second time. And he sure didn't like it when Lacey was telling us the story of you hand her uh... getting caught. It was like he was jealous of you or something," Luke finished.

"So you don't want me to ask her in front of Al because you think he'll get jealous?" I confirmed. They nodded. "So what if he gets jealous? He's three years younger than me, not to mention about as skinny as Calum used to be before he started working out. What's he gonna do?"

"You sound like such a chav right now," Luke facepalmed and shook his head at me.

"We don't want you to not invite him because we're scared of him," Ashton explains much more helpfully, "it just seems like he really likes Lacey and it would be inconsiderate of you to ask her out on purpose in front of him. It would be awkward."

"Aka-awkward," Calum quoted Pitch Perfect and just giggled when Ashton glared at him for ruining the serious situation.

"Well I wouldn't mean to do that, I just thought it might be cute if all her friends-" I started but Luke cut me off.

"Look, you can do whatever you want. It's your choice. We just wanted to warn you," Luke was serious for once in his little penguin life.

"Maybe you could talk to this guy or something first before you do it? I don't know, the two just seem pretty close," Ashton added before he followed Luke and walked away to go play FIFA.

"Good luck mate," Calum smiled goofily and jokingly patted me on the shoulder. It seems he wasn't as concerned as the other two.

I think I still side with Calum. This was nothing to worry about.

End of part 39.

I like writing about 5sos. Maybe I'll do another fic about them when this one finishes. Would y'all read that?

Hope you're having a lovely day! <3

Song of the day: Oh No by Bring Me the Horizon (I've been starting to like them lately. I used to not like them v much walking221B_tardis )

Question of the day: Who is your favorite member of 5sos? Mine is Michael! I would say it's obvious, but it's really not since lately I've been using other stuff as my profile pic besides his beautiful kitten face. But yes, I'm a Michael girl and I'm actually kinda excited that he's gonna quit dying his hair because I love his natural hair. But you know, whatever makes him happy. :3
