"Kakuzu-san. Please come...closer." Sakura weakly whispered, staring at the sunset. Kakuzu did as he was told. His eyes widened when he felt soothing chakra on the wound of his neck. "Ah. There goes...the last of...my strength." Sakura whispered, smiling as her eyes closed. 'You idiot! Wake up!' Kakuzu thought, barking as he tried to wake Sakura up.

'God damn it, Sakura! Wake up! How do you expect a mere puppy to carry you back to the hide out?' Kakuzu barked, pulling Sakura's hair, but everything was in vain. Kakuzu's eyes widened when he felt a series unknown chakra. "Mission accomplished." An anbu said, appearing infront of the two, followed by his teammates. Kakuzu's eyes widened at this. Kakuzu tried protecting Sakura but his puppy body didn't even stand a single chance on the anbu leader.

With a puff of smoke, the group of anbu appeared in front of Tsunade's desk with Sakura and Kakuzu at hand. "Bring Haruno to the interrogation room." Tsunade said, eyeing the puppy. "Also the puppy." She continued. With a nod, the anbu did as they were told. They chained Sakura's wrists on the wall and let go of Kakuzu. Kakuzu ran towards Sakura, standing infront of her as if protecting her. With that the Anbu walked away, locking the door.

'Stay asleep, if you wake up there's a huge chance for them to interrogate and to toture you.' Kakuzu barked, sitting beside Sakura.

The following day...

Sakura's eyes fluttered open. She looked around and recognized the place as the interrogation room in leaf. Her eyes widened and frantically looked for Kakuzu. She sighed in relief when she saw Kakuzu asleep beside her.

The door flew open only to reveal Tsunade. "You're going to tell me where the Akatsuki base is whether you want to or not." Tsunade's voice rang in her ear, waking Kakuzu up. "I don't know. Check my pocket, the hideout might be in there." Sakura said, smirking as she received a glare from Tsunade.

"I'm not here for your jokes, Haruno." Tsunade menacingly said. "Then you shouldn't be here in the first place." Sakura said, taunting Tsunade. Tsunade raised a fist and slammed it beside Sakura's head, causing Kakuzu to growl. Sakura remained in her place, smirking at the now annoyed Tsunade.

"Tsunade-sama! You should cool off for a bit. If you kill her now, you'll never know where the hideout is." Shizune shouted from behind the door, causing Tsunade to sigh and walk out. Kakuzu gave Sakura an are-you-ok-look. Sakura grinned at him and said "I'm perfectly fine. I'm more worried about you." 'You shouldn't be worrying about me when you have those wounds.' Kakuzu thought, sweat dropping.

A few hours has passed, enough to make Sakura think that it's already night fall. "Leader is going to kill me for not making it back home in time." Sakura said, twitching and sighing as she leaned back. "Are you hungry, Kakuzu-san?" Sakura whispered. Kakuzu shook his head no, just in time when his tummy made a sound. Sakura laughed at this. "Inside my pocket, there should be a sandwich in, wrapped in a paper towel and a plastic. Get it." Sakura said, showing Kakuzu her side pocket.

Kakuzu did as he was told and opened the plastic with his teeth. He looked at Sakura as if asking if he should feed her. "You should eat. A puppy shouldn't starve. And besides, my body can survive without eating for at least a week." Sakura said, grinning as Kakuzu ate the sandwich.

Kakuzu sat beside Sakura when he finished eating with his tail unconsciously wagging. The door opened, making both of them look at the door. "Ibiki-san. Fancy meeting you here." Sakura said, smiling as Ibiki glared at her. "Let's go to business." He started, walking towards Sakura with a kunai at hand. Kakuzu stood infront of Sakura, growing as Ibiki took another step. "Hey. Stay behind me." Sakura said, staring at Ibiki. Kakuzu did as he was told.

"Tell me where the Akatsuki hideout is." Ibiki said, glaring at Sakura. "Like I told Tsunade. Check my pocket. The hideout might be in there." Sakura said, smirking. With that, Ibiki threw the kunai into Sakura's shoulder. Sakura bit her lip, trying not to shout in agony. Kakuzu was about to get in front of Sakura once again. But Sakura pushed down onto him, pinning him on his place.

"Next question. What are the Akatsuki's future plans for the jinchuriki?" Ibiki asked, pulling out another kunai. "Have a banquet to lure all the jinchuriki in." Sakura sarcastically said, earning herself another kunai, this time in her foot.
Kakuzu barked as he smelt more blood from Sakura. Sakura pushed down harder as Kakuzu struggled.

Ibiki eyed the dog and pulled out another kunai. "Last question. What are the Akatsuki's flaws?" He asked. "Flaws? What flaws? They are perfect as they are now compared to this hellhole called Konoha." Sakura said. Ibiki threw the kunai, but this time, towards Kakuzu. Sakura eyes widened. Sakura stopped the kunai a few inches from Kakuzu's face by biting on the blade. Kakuzu's eyes widened when he saw the blade shatter in-between her teeth as blood poured from her lips.

Sakura spit out the remnants of the kunai and glared at Ibiki. "You are not to harm the dog." She said. With that, Ibiki let with a smile on his face. 'She let her weakness show.' He thought, locking the door behind him as he walked away.

"Kakuzu-san, are you safe?" Sakura asked, giving Kakuzu a bloody smile. Kakuzu looked at Sakura with wide eyes. 'Why would you go so far as to bite a kunai's blade for me?' He thought, resting his head on Sakura's wounded leg. 'I'll get you out of here somehow.' He thought.

A few hours later, Sakura felt a group of very familiar chakras. Her eyes widened as her ear twitched when she heard an explosion from afar. "Kakuzu-san." She whispered. Kakuzu looked up and nodded.
