Chapter 58: Unbearable Heat

Both men's eyes widened when Sakura along with the bodies of the Akatsuki appeared before them. Sakura aided the Akatsuki and lied them beside Kakashi. "Please take care of them while I'm away." Sakura stated. "Sakura, your hair." Kakashi said with wide eyes. "I'm fine." She answered, smiling at him. "Itachi. Please, turn down. This is my fight." Sakura said, stepping into the battle field. Itachi nodded and walked back as Kabuto smirked at them. For one last look, Sakura smiled as she took in the peaceful image of her family.

"This might be the last time I'll be able to smile at you." Sakura whispered, which did not remain unheard by Itachi. Sakura turned and glared at Kabuto. "You manipulated life like it was nothing." Sakura whispered. "I did." Kabuto retaliated with a smug smirk on his face. "And I'm the only one with the heavenly power!" Kabuto shouted, spreading his arms wide and started laughing like a maniac.

"You think you're the only one?" Sakura stated, smirking as her hand glowed red with chakra. Kabuto suddenly stopped laughing when he felt unable to. "Don't you try me Kabuto." Sakura frighteningly stated. She twitched her fingers, just then Kabuto let out a painful cry.

"S-sakura." Sakura turned and saw Konan with tired eyes staring at her. "S-stop..." Sakura simply smiled. "I need to." She said. Sakura's eyes widened when she felt a hand gently touch her arm. "Stop." A monotonous voice said. "Sakura. It's my turn to fight for you, remember? I'm not going to protect you. I'm going to fight in your place." Itachi said, giving Sakura a small smile.

"H-hey, un." "Don't f-f**king go stealing our Sakura." "You're so unfair, 'tachi." Deidara, Hidan and Kisame weakly stood  with their weapons at hand as Konan weakly guided Pein to lean on a tree with the help of Kakashi. "Katsu." Deidara grinned as he effectively blew Kabuto away.

Sakura stood there, tears falling as she watched her friends fight for her. "Sakura. Tend to the others." Itachi ordered, entering the battle field. Sakura smiled and did so immediately.

She first went to Sasori. Sakura sent a few amount of healing chakra in his system. A few moments later, she felt a hand gently tug her now-white locks. "I...liked your pink hair better. They seemed... to last an eternity." Sasori wiped Sakura's tear away, smiling. "Don't waste your life force on someone like Kabuto again. Promise me. You're too precious to lose." Sasori whispered, causing more of Sakura's tears to fall. Sakura nodded. "I promise."

"Sakura...remember that those white locks...proved that you grew...while protecting the ones you treasure." Sakura turned and saw Kakuzu staring at the leaves of the tree above them. Before Sakura could reply to Kakuzu's words, a loud explosion was heard.

"Sakura!" Hidan shouted. Before the explosion could reach them, Kakashi quickly acted and blocked the explosion from approaching the group.

"Where are the kids?" Kakuzu suddenly asked. "A reliable friend took them to a safe place." Kakashi answered.

"Hey, I need help here, mind you!" Hidan shouted as he continued to block Kabuto's continuous attacks. "Mangekyo Sharingan." Kabuto smirked and adverted his gaze from Itachi's eyes. "I'm not an idiot." Kabuto stated, approaching Kisame at a very unbelievable speed with a chakra scalpel at hand. "That won't do against Samehada." Kisame said.

Kabuto smirked at this. "You might want to think twice about that." Kisame blocked Kabuto's scalpel with Samehada, what happened next stunned him. Kabuto managed to tear a huge amount of bandages that wrapped Samehada, exposing it's sharpened skin.

"Pass!" Kisame shouted, jumping back as Deidara took his stance. "Four Akatsuki members against an opponent? How disappointing." Kabuto laughed as he jumped back, avoiding Deidara's explosive clays.

Sakura opened up a scroll and summoned an onyx black katana. "Itachi!" Sakura shouted, throwing him the katana. Itachi nodded as thanks and ran head on at Kabuto with the katana at hand.

Itachi enforced his katana with chakra and effortlessly cut through kabuto's chakra scalpel. "You won't win against him when it comes to kenjutsu, Kabuto." Sasori stated.

Kabuto clicked his tongue in annoyance. He performed a series of handsigns, soon everyone felt drowsy, seeing feathers fall around them. Sakura sent a small wave of her own chakra and undid the genjutsu on everyone.

"What?" Kabuto said. His eyes widened when he felt an unbearable heat. He gazed at Itachi an found his Mangekyo Sharingan activated. Soon, he found flames crawling up his arm, quickly burning his skin, into his flesh. Kabuto let out a shout of agony. He performed a handsign and soon his burns start to heal, still engulfed in Itachi's flames.

"Go, Kabuto can't hold out that justu any longer!" Pein shouted. "Same goes for Itachi!" Kakuzu shouted. "Sh**t!" Hidan shouted as he watched his scythe melt. "W-wait!" Kisame said, killing the burn marks on Samehada's remaining bandages. "F**k!" Deidara shouted as his clay bombs exploded right before they can reach Kabuto.

"Ugh." Itachi accidentally let out as he struggled to remain on his feet and keep his eyes open. Soon his eyes started bleeding from the fatigue. 'The chakra Sakura gave me is quickly running out.' He thought. He gazed at Kabuto and found him desperately healing himself. 'It seems like he can still go on for about five minutes.' Itachi thought clicking his tongue.

Konan summoned her paper, a centimeter away from Kabuto, her papers were burnt to ashes. Kakashi took out a kunai and ran for Kabuto. His eyes widened when he saw white locks infront of him. "No." He whispered as his eyes widened.
