"Oh." Sakura said. "What about Itachi?" She asked, making the other's eyes widen. "Itachi-senpai is--!" Tobi was cut off with Tsunade's and Pein's glare. "He's still in the operating room." Pein stated. A look of fear flashed in Sakura's eyes. "His right eye is completely destroyed. His left eye's cornea was burnt, maybe due to him using his Mangekyo Sharingan to that extent." Tsunade stated. "All I can do right now is prevent his right eye from decomposing." Tsunade said.
What Sakura said next shocked everyone in the room.
"Give him my right eye."
"Sakura, wait, that's--" "The only way." Sakura cut off Tsunade. "His Uchiha blood will reject your eye, Sakura!" Tsunade exclaimed. "It's worth to try!" Sakura shouted. "I'll be the one wasting my eye if Itachi's blood rejected my eye." Sakura shouted, everyone stared at Sakura with softened eyes. "I was too weak. I thought I can finish Kabuto without endangering my friends. This is the least I can do for him." Sakura whispered. She covered her eyes with her palms, soon tears escaped her eyes.
A knock was heard. The door opened only to reveal Kakashi. "Tsunade-sama. May I have a bit of your time?" He said through the doorway as he looked at Sakura. "I want you to rethink your decision, Sakura." Tsunade sternly stated as she turned away and walked out with Kakashi.
"Sakura are you sure about that?" Konan said, sitting beside Sakura as she patted her back. "What else can I do, Konan? He'll be completely blind by the end of the week if I don't do this." Sakura said. "We'll leave you to think, alright Sakura?" Konan said, hugging her. "We'll be outside, dattebayo." Naruto said, giving Sakura a forced smile.
Three days have passed since then. Sakura is fully healed, along with Sasori and Kakuzu. The only problem right now are Itachi's eyes. "What do you plan about Itachi's eyes, Sakura?" Sasori asked. The others went on a stroll in Konoha, Sasori and Sakura decided to stay in their temporary house. "I'll heal his left eye to the best of my abilities. If Tsunade-sama won't perform the eye transplant, then I'll do it myself." Sasori's eyes widened at what she said.
Sasori was about to retaliate until the door was roughly opened. "B**ch! We heard a f**ked up news about the ice block!" Hidan shouted as him, Kisame and Deidara ran in. "Yeah, un!" "Itachi's brother did something!" Kisame shouted, pulling the shocked Sakura out of the house as Deidara pulled Sasori.
The five arrived outside of the operating room only to see the others waiting. "What did Sasuke do?" Sakura asked, fear present in her eyes. "Sasuke asked Kakashi to help him speak to the hokage about the transplant." Pein stated. "I almost fainted when I heard about it, tebayo." Naruto whispered. "He gave his eye to Itachi." Kakashi said
The door to the operating room opened, only to reveal Tsunade. "The transplant was a success. But Itachi's left eye is incurable, the infection already spread." "Is it impossible for me to heal it?" Sakura asked. "Yes. I already removed his left eye. If I did not, the infection will slowly crawl its way towards his brain. It will kill him." Tsunade said.
"When will we be able to leave with him?" Kisame asked. "I can already check him out. Since you have a medic in your group." Tsunade asked, looking at Sakura. "But if I do, you are to leave immediately." She continued. "When will he wake up?" Kakuzu asked. "In an hour." "Then we're leaving in an hour." Pein announced. "Sakura is a skilled medic. She'll do anything to restore Itachi's sight." Pein said, giving Sakura a small smile.
"What about Sasuke?" Naruto asked. "I believe he'll wake up in about half an hour." Tsunade said. "May I speak to him?" Sakura asked. Both Pein and Tsunade nodded. Half an hour passed by in a blink of an eye and Sakura found herself sitting alone in Sasuke's room, waiting for him to wake up.
Sasuke's eye opened. He blinked to adjust to the light. A few moments later, his sight landed on Sakura. He groaned as he sat up. He gripped his right empty socket in pain as Sakura guided him to sit. Sakura sent healing chakra to ease Sasuke's pain. "Thank you." Sakura suddenly said, making Sasuke's eye widen. "What made you change your mind?" She asked.
"I found a folder during the war against Kabuto. I found everything. Everything I should've known. Everything I should've understood. And everything I should've regretted." Sasuke said, shadows covering his eye.
"Sasuke-" Sakura was cut off when she saw a tear fall from his eye. "Sakura, I want to make it up to my brother. I want to thank him for saving me. I want to finally hug him like how a little brother should. I want to eagerly wait for him again on his way back from a tiring mission. Please, Sakura help me thank him. Help me make it up to my brother." Sasuke sobbed.
Sakura stood from her seat and hugged Sasuke, letting him cry on her shoulder. "You already did, Sasuke. Your eye was enough for him to hear you. He heard you loud and clear. Thank you, Sasuke." Sakura said, rubbing circles on his back. "This is goodbye for now." She whispered, as she felt Sasuke hug her tighter. Sakura sent soothing chakra into Sasuke's system. A few moments later, Sasuke's hug became loose. Sakura settled Sasuke back down on his bed as she put the blanket on him. Sakura wiped Sasuke's tears away. "See you some time again, Sasuke." Sakura whispered, smiling as she let a tear fall, walking out of Sasuke's room.
