Chapter 37: Traps

"Tobi wants Sakura-chan to only sit down for this training." Tobi said, sitting down and patting the space in front of him. "What are we going to do, Tobi-sensei?" Sakura asked. "Sakura-chan called Tobi a sensei!" Tobi shouted in glee, making Sakura laugh at this. "I want you to be able to fool my Sharingan." Tobi suddenly said in a deep voice, far from Tobi's own.

Sakura's eyes widened when she felt a murderous chakra. 'This was the same chakra I felt in that hallway.' Sakura thought as she jumped back instinctively. "My, that certainly hurt my feelings, Sakura-chan." He said, sending shivers down Sakura's spine. "Who are you?" Sakura asked, putting on a brave font. Tobi smirked at this under his mask. "Come here and I'll tell you." He said. "Do something to me and I'll make sure to send you towards cloud village with one punch." Sakura said, glaring at him as she cautiously approached him, not letting her eyes off him. She sat back down and patiently waited. Tobi laughed at this. "Still feisty even in the presence of someone murderous." Tobi said in amusement.

Tobi grasped his mask and removed it. The first thing Sakura saw was a smirk on his face. Sakura's eyes widened when she saw Obito. "Are you terrified, Sakura-chan?" He asked, smirking. "I want you to keep this a secret to everyone." He said, making Sakura nod.

"L-let's start training." Sakura said, calming herself down, making Obito smirk at her bravery. "Very well. Like I said, I want you to trick my Sharingan." Obito said, activating his Sharingan. "Make your hands fast enough to do a simple jutsu. Enough to make me think you did it without hand signs." He said as Sakura nodded.

Sakura performed handsigns but was stopped when Obito said "Again." Sakura did as she was told as Obito eyed her hands. This continued on for a few hours. Sakura panted as she managed to trick the Sharingan a little. "I saw the last handsign." Obito said. "Let's stop here. That was a fast progress." Obito said, putting his mask back on as Sakura eyed him.

"You should rest, Sakura-chan." Tobi said, returning to his playful facade. With that the two walked back towards their respective rooms. Sakura abruptly stopped when she saw Pein waiting by her door with arms crossed over his chest as he tapped his foot impatiently.

"Sakura." He menacingly said, sending shivers down Sakura's spine. "H-hai?" She asked. "What did I say about training?" Pein asked, walking towards Sakura. "E-eheh." Sakura awkwardly laughed, avoiding Pein's muderous glare as she scratched the back of her head. "I see you train one more time and I'll make you clean Hidan's room." Pein said. Sakura's eyes widened at this. "B-but but!" Sakura said. "No buts, Sakura." Pein said, walking away.

Sakura sighed and entered her room. She fell down on her bed, looking up at the ceiling. "I still have two hours before dinner." She told herself. "I can take my time taking a bath." She said, grabbing her towel and a fresh set of clothes and readied the bath. An hour later, Sakura got dressed and went out of her room for a little stroll around the base.

A few minutes later, "Where in the world am I?" Sakura asked herself, taking another right. "I've been here for a while and I still got lost." She told herself, twitching in annoyance. Sakura's eyes widened when she stepped on a string. Just then, holes formed in the walls. "Well that's just fantastic." She said as kunai started to bombard her. She dodged every single one. The kunai stopped. Sakura scanned the area for more traps.

Meanwhile...

An emergency meeting was held. "The traps in the southern part of the building were activated." Pein said. "Where's the b**ch?" Hidan suddenly asked. "I sent Tobi to go get her." Pein said. "Tobi cannot find Sakura-chan." Tobi bluntly said. "Has anybody thought that it could be Sakura that activated the traps?" Sasori deadpanned, making everyone silent.
