Chapter 34: Ignore The Kyuubi

A few hours later, Sakura felt a group of very familiar chakras. Her eyes widened as ear twitched when she heard an explosion from afar. "Kakuzu-san." She whispered. Kakuzu looked up and nodded.

A puff of smoke appeared, Sakura turned to it and saw a naked Kakuzu as it dispersed. Sakura got red and turned away. "P-put on some clothes!" She shouted, shutting her eyes. Just in time when an anbu barged in Sakura's cell. Kakuzu stabbed a tendril right through the anbu's heart with no hesitation and stripped the anbu and wore the clothes.

Kakuzu destroyed Sakura's cuffs and carried her on his back. "K-kakuzu-san." Sakura said in shock. "It's my turn to protect you." Kakuzu said, running down the corridor. Killing every enemy on sight in one swift movement. "Atleast allow me to fight." Sakura said as Kakuzu ran up a stair case. "I'm not allowing you to fight with those wounds." Kakuzu deadpanned, making Sakura sweat drop.

Sakura looked up when she heard another explosion, this time it got closer. Kakuzu abruptly stopped when they saw Kakashi waiting for them by the doorway. The two stared at each other for a few seconds. Kakuzu broke eye contact and put Sakura down behind him. "Sakura, when you see an opening, I want you to run as fast as you can towards the door." Kakuzu whispered, making Sakura nod.

Without another word, Kakuzu and Kakashi lunged at each other. Kakashi pulled up his hitae-ate, revealing the sharingan. Kakuzu smirked at this and said "Afraid of the enemy?" Kakuzu asked, smirking. "I'm merely being cautious as to not leave an opening." He said, smiling. "You already did." Sakura said, running at full speed towards Kakashi. Kakashi's eyes widened when he was unable to follow Sakura's steps with his sharingan. 'How is she able be that fast with those wounds?!' He thought. "You idiot, I told you to run!" Kakuzu shouted as Sakura tried to hit Kakashi's pressure point but Kakashi deflected the move and jumped away from Sakura. "I'm not leaving a friend behind." Sakura said, making Kakuzu's eyes widen.

Kakashi was about to counterattack, but was stopped when a rod came flying near his face. Kakuzu took this time and wrapped a tendril around Sakura's figure, pulling her back behind him. "Leader." Kakuzu said with wide eyes. Pein walked in the building, eyeing Kakashi all the way in. "Wait, if you're here then who's dealing with Naruto and Tsuande?" Sakura asked, raising an eyebrow. "Have more faith in your teammates." Pein said as Kakashi lunged towards him with chidori. Pein took a side step and stabbed Kakashi in the arm with a rod. Kakashi simply pulled the rod off with a grunt and glared at Pein.

Pein threw a firework at Kakuzu. Kakuzu caught the firework and looked at Pein in wonder. "Light this when you've reached Deidara. Ignore the nine tailed fox if you ever come across him. Our goal is to save Sakura." Pein said, making Sakura's and Kakuzu's eyes widen. "W-wait! What about collecting all the jinchuriki? This is a great opportunity!" Sakura shouted, making Kakashi's eyes widen. "Losing an ambition is nothing compared to losing a friend. Now go!" Pein said, blocking Kakashi's attack. 'You're amazing to have changed leader the way he is now.' Kakuzu thought.

With that, Kakuzu nodded and carried Sakura like a sack of potatoes, making Sakura yelp in surprise. Kakuzu ran and was about to be blocked by Kakashi. Pein blocked Kakashi's path, preventing him from going any further. A few meters away, "Oi, s**ty rag doll!" A familiar voice shouted, making Sakura and Kakuzu turn to the source. "Hidan." Kakuzu said, glaring at Hidan. "You f**king want his s**ty heart?" Hidan asked, pointing at Yamato. Kakuzu shook his head. "Then I'll f**king have the pleasure of crushing it." Hidan said, grinning as he licked Yamato's blood off his scythe.

With a sigh, Kakuzu ran towards the gate where Deidara was supposed to be. "GAH!" A familiar voice shouted. Sakura turned and saw Tsunade shouting in agony. It seems like she was caught in Itachi's sharingan. She looked around and saw Sasuke and Itachi fighting each other. She turned a few more meters from the Uchihas and saw Konan holding Naruto off. Sakura grunted when Kakuzu suddenly stopped.

She turned and saw team taka in front of them. "Don't think we'll allow you to go that easily, b**ch." Karin said, smirking. Sakura clenched her fists, glaring at Karin. Kakuzu looked at her in wonder. "She's the reason why I left the leaf." Sakura whispered. She was about to get off Kakuzu's back but Kakuzu held her in place. "Like I said, I'm not letting you fight with those wounds." Kakuzu said, in a blink of an eye, Kakuzu and Sakura are nowhere to be seen. "There." Jugo said, pointing towards the sky. They looked up and saw a huge clay bird. Kakuzu lit the firework, signalling that they had reached Deidara. All members took the time to look at the firework.

"F**k, I was so close into killing you. I'll just f**king kill you when we meet again." Hidan said, disappearing from Yamato's sight. "Sorry, otouto. Let's finish this next time." Itachi monotonously said, disappearing with a flock of crows. Konan disappeared with a swirl of paper, leaving a thrashing Naruto behind. "You better not make the same mistake twice." Pein menacingly said, glaring at the weakened Kakashi, disappearing with a puff of smoke.
