Y/N POV:
'Why does he hate me? Why do you stay? Do you hate me? I hate me... Why does everyone leave me? What's wrong with me?' That's everything I wanted to ask Austin as we sat on the couch. All I did, though, was sit in silence. There wasn't even any emotion on my face. There were no tears threatening to spill, no sobs trying to escape my throat. Nothing.
Emotion felt like too much effort, and I didn't have the motivation to show or to fake any sort of feeling.
My family, staring with my brother, were all trying to abandon me. I was 'too quirky' or I 'worshipped satan' so couldn't stay in their pure, Christian home.
Of course, Austin was there to put me up in my time of need. I felt like I burden, though. He had a life, the band, friends and his family. I was just in the way.
Not only did my family hate me, but my friends also left because I was too depressing. That's why my boyfriend left me too.
Oh well. I can't do anything about it, so nothing is worth doing. I just sat at stared at the trash on the TV.
Austin's POV:
I stared at her completely motionless and emotionless form. What the hell did they say to her to make her like this?
Whatever happened back there, it wasn't good. Now, my best friend was practically in a vegetive state. She would do nothing unless it was to go to the toilet or change the television channel.
She wouldn't eat. She wouldn't drink. She couldn't sleep.
The poor thing was falling apart.
"Hey, Y/N?" I tried. Of course, I knew it was hopeless, but I had to try.
I thought I saw her head move, just a slight twitch in my direction, but even if I did, it stopped as soon as I spotted the movement. "Please say something..." I begged, desperately. She hadn't said a word since I picked her up. The last time I heard her voice was when she called me, in tears and obviously falling apart.
This time, she shook her head. She actually moved. "She lives!" I chuckled.
Not even a smirk cracked. I missed her.
I slowly took the remote from her and began to flick through channels, knowing that her favourite show would be on now.
By this point, I was sure she'd lost all perception of time.
Once I'd flicked past Y/F/S, I felt her weight, or what little was left of it, shift on the couch. I flipped back to the program and she sat and seemed happier. There was a slight glint in her eyes that I missed seeing.
"Th..."
"Holy... Go on, please! Say something! Anything!" I pleaded.
"Stop... yelling..." her voice sounded hoarse, probably from weeks of saying nothing and drinking as little as possible.
"Okay... I- I can do that..." I stuttered, still shocked to hear that beautiful voice again.
"Thank you... Austin," she smiled slightly.
Hearing her say my name made my heart flutter. I stayed silent for a while, just taking in what had happened. I'd finally gotten through to her.
"Hey, Y/..." I started, but stopped when I heard a light snore.
She was finally asleep.
I took her slight figure in my arms and carried her with ease to the bedroom I had planned on sharing with her.
As I looked at the beautiful, fragile creature in my hands, I smiled sadly.
How I loved this woman, and seeing her break, broke me.
I entered the room and lay her on our now shared bed. She seemed to stir a little, but quickly settled down again.
I pulled the duvet over her and smiled. Maybe she'd feel better after a nights rest.
I crawled into bed with her and pulled her bony structure close.
"I love you, Y/N," I whispered.
Y/N POV:
I heard him whisper those three special words and almost cringed, but stayed 'asleep'.
This was the last thing I needed after everything else over the past few weeks.
Obviously, I felt the same, but this wasn't the right time. He had to know that.
Soon, I felt myself drift from consciousness.
~morning~
The sun peeked through the roughly drawn curtains, so I closed my eyes tight.
I lay there, contemplating my next move, following Austin's 'confession'.
All I wanted to do was tell him I was in love with him too. Then again, for all I knew, he only loved me and saw me as his little sister.
The heartbreak would be unbearable at this moment for me.
Hours passed, as did the sun.
It seems that I'd awoken much earlier than I'd have expected. After weeks of almost no sleep, I wouldn't think I could bring my eyes to open before 10:00am, but somehow, I'd woken up at 6:30am.
Finally, I felt Austin stir next to me. Still, I didn't move. What was the point? If I didn't move, it wasn't like it would stop him from living his life. His arms wrapped around me, his lips planting a sweet kiss on my forehead. I almost smiled, but couldn't find the energy.
"How long've you been up?" He croaked with his hoarse morning voice that made my heart beat a mile a minute. I didn't say anything. Yesterday I did all the talking I could bring myself to for a long time. I heard him sigh and immediately felt bad for my choice. "Last night was all I was gonna get then?" He chuckled, sadly. I sighed. "You gonna get up?"
I nearly shook my head, but found myself too tired. I just lay there, as useful as I always had been and always would be. No more useful that an empty pen. He groaned lightly, standing and stretching. Looking over his toned form, I allowed a quick smile. This man cared for me and loved me in some way. That's all I needed. I thought it best not to get greedy and denied myself the privilege of confession.
I closed my eyes, ready for sleep to envelope me once more, but flicked them back open as soon as I felt my disgusting body being lifted from the bed. "Yes. Yes you are. Then you're gonna eat breakfast. After that, I'm gonna get you in that shower and wash you myself if I have to," he said. That thought made me blush ever so slightly. "And then, we're gonna do something other than watch TV," he promised. I didn't want to. TV was my comfort zone.
I didn't fight though. The giant carried me to the kitchen where he pulled a pop tart out of its silvery pack and shoved it into the toaster.
A plate was slid down the breakfast bar to where I was sat, and I sighed.
"You have to eat it," he scolded. I shook my head, earning a smile and a frown all at once. "Fine. I'll feed you then!" My hero chuckled and broke off a piece of the pastry, holding it to my mouth.
Reluctantly, I allowed him to feed me.
Once it was gone, he picked me up, ready to carry me into the bathroom, but I shook my head and started to walk myself there, before falling to the floor in a bundle of bones. He gasped and hurried to help me.
"Did you really think you'd be able to walk?" He sighed.
He was right. After weeks of just sitting down and eating nothing, I was too weak to do anything myself. I shook my head.
Austin picked me up again and carried me, bridal style, to the bathroom. "Now, I'm gonna have to do this for you, okay? I hope you don't mind?" He asked. Austin was always such a gentleman. I smiled at him.
"I don't mind..."
Speaking was so much effort for me. I don't think he realised how much thought it took me to actually talk to him. That's how much I cared for him.
"I could get used to that..." he sighed dreamily.
"To what...?"
"You're voice. I could get used to hearing you talk again. I miss you, Y/N," he told me.
"I miss me too," I admitted. I really did. I used to be happy and confident. Then came my downfall.
"Well I'm gonna get you back, okay?" He promised. I smiled. "Okay so... uh... sit- sit on the toilet... and I'll help you... uh- get undressed..." he stuttered. I chuckled at his shyness.
"Come on Aust! I can do that myself!" I laughed, almost feeling like myself again.
"Okay, well you do that and I'll... uh- I'm gonna get the shower right..." he blushed.
He was so cute.
I stripped down and looked at myself.
Bones. All just skin and bone. It was disgusting.
"Don't look at yourself like that," Austin sighed.
"Why not...?"
"Because I think you're beautiful," he shrugged casually. I blushed heavily but smiled anyway. "Showers ready," he smiled back.
He helped me stand and sat me down, underneath the running water. He then stepped back and started to strip.
"Austin, it's fine! I can wash myself..." I stuttered doubtfully.
"No you can't, so stop being awkward and let me help you!" He chuckled. I shrugged and allowed it.
Austin clambered into the shower with his back to me, leaving me to admire his body.
He was so tanned, toned and tall. As he turned, I glanced away.
"Gimme your hand," he asked.
I held out my bony arm and he followed up by pulling me to stand with ease.
I started to slip, but not for long as the giant almost instantly held me up.
"Careful there!" He smiled.
Al I could think was how much I wanted to kiss him in this moment. His arms wrapped around my waist, my body pressed up against his and the hot shower raining down on us both. It would've been perfect.
But I didn't do it.
"Whatcha thinking?" He asked gently.
"Just about some guy," I answered quickly.
I still could've made up a better lie.
"Ooh, who's that?" He cooed, somehow still sounding almost disinterested and maybe hurt.
"Don't worry," I sighed. Now wasn't the time to discuss this.
"Oh, alright," he muttered, reaching for the shower gel behind me and brushing my bare skin slightly. I shivered at the contact. "Are you cold? I could turn the water up?" He smirked, knowing exactly what caused me to shiver.
"No, it's fine..." I blushed, hating myself for feeling this way about my best friend.
"Well okay then!" He sang.
I heard his squirt the shower gel into his hand. "It's gonna be cold," he warned me. I just shrugged.
It was cold.
"Told ya!" He laughed.
"Whatever!" I laughed back.
"Turn around," Austin demanded. I did as I was asked.
He started washing my back, which was fine until he got further down, when I started to blush a little.
I sighed in content. This was nice. This was perfect, even.
"Who were you thinking about earlier?" He asked again, his voice taking a seductive tone.
I said nothing, so he started to wash my front slowly.
"Not gonna say...?" He smirked. I shook my head. "Alright then."
His hands wandered to my thighs as he continued to wash me. I held back the urge to moan.
"Who are you thinking about right now? It'll be the same guy as earlier," he pressed.
I groaned, deciding to give in and confess.
"You," I panted.
All of a sudden, I was spun around and pulled into Austin. He smiled down at me before crashing our lips together.
I kissed back and felt him smile against my lips.
"And she's back," he grinned. I nodded.
"You happy now?" I jested.
"Only if you'll be my girlfriend," he stated.
"Aust... of course I will!" I giggled, starting to feel light headed.
"Let's finish clearing you up," he winked, causing me to blush.
"Hehe okay!"
