Gerard's POV:

I sat in the hotel suite that Y/N had booked for the band and I, staring at my hands and thinking about how things would be after today.
After 2pm, she would be Y/N Way. I knew she'd be excited, but I felt sick. I wasn't ready for this. I needed more time.
As I sat, swimming in my own thoughts, Ray walked in.
"Gee? The bride wants to see you," he smiled. I tried to reciprocate, but couldn't find the energy.
I shakily rose to my feet and tiptoed up to her door. I'd hardly grazed the door with my knuckle before I heard her call out; "Come in!"
I pushed the door gently, listening to the groan it made as it swung on its hinges.
There she was. She was stunning. Her H/L, H/C hair was gently curled, her makeup looked so natural; like she'd woken up like that. She always looked so perfect in the mornings, or more often the afternoons, just after she'd woken up.
The dress was like one of the classic, retro, 50's dresses you'd see in the movies. It was always her dream to wear a dress like that at her wedding. She suited it well.
"Hey..." I croaked, my voice barely a whisper.
"Gee..."
We stared at each other for what seemed like eternity.
She turned away from the mirror and smiled sadly.
"I can't do my dress up... Would you mind? It's like a corset at the back," she asked, walking over to me. I nodded, more than happy to oblige. Once she was only inches away from me, she turned around. I just stared for a moment, unsure on whether I should help.
I finally managed to will my fingers to move towards her dress. The silk ribbons felt like air on my skin, and were so easy to tie. Every time I accidentally grazed her skin, I felt her tense up. It broke my heart. This wasn't how it was meant to turn out.
She slowly twirled to face me. I just stared.
"Thanks..."
"No problem princes-"
I caught myself before I made a mistake but it didn't help. Just seconds after I almost called her our favourite pet name, her hands were in my hair, mine caressing her baby-soft face and our lips against one another's. It had been months since we had done this. I knew things would be difficult as soon as this was over, so I did everything I could to make it last. As she tried to pull away, I just closed the gap. I pulled her closer and held her there by her waist. Eventually, she managed to break free.
"What are you so afraid of?"
"This ending," I whimpered. I sounded so weak. I felt weak.
"Gee..."
"As soon as I walk out of this door, that's it, princess. No more kisses. No more caresses. Nothing. Just memories and secret love songs."
I felt like crying.
"I know. I don't want this to be over, baby..."
"Then stay in this room. Stay here. Stay with me!" I cried, desperation obvious in my tone.
"I can't do that. We both know I can't..."
She sounded as heartbroken as I did. It was obviously breaking us.
I looked down at my shoe, acting like it was the most interesting thing I had ever seen. In reality, her eyes were far more intriguing. Her usually vibrant E/C had faded to a grey, and the brims filled with tears.
"Don't do this..." I begged. It was futile and we both knew that, but it shouldn't have hurt to try.
"I love him, Gee..." she murmured.
"I love you, Y/N. Please just realise that..." I sighed.
"I swear to god, if you make my mascara run!" She chuckled.
I pulled her in close, breathing in her scent, never wanting to forget what it was like to hold her close. "I love you too, Gerard Way..." she choked out.
I planted a kiss on her forehead before pulling away and wiping away the tears that had fallen.
"I'm gonna leave now. And then you're gonna go out there and you're gonna do this. Mrs Y/N Michael Way has a nice ring to it," I smiled.
"Not as good as Mrs Y/N Gerard Way..." she groaned. "Why did it work out like this?"
"Because this is how it has to be, darling. Good bye, Miss L/N..." I muttered, turning to leave.
"Wait!"
She grabbed my wrist and pulled me back to her, smashing our lips together one last time.
"Bye, Gee..."
I left the room, ran back to my suite, and was greeted by Frank. He had his arms open, waiting for me. I didn't hesitate to hug back, crying into his shoulder.
"She isn't happy, Frank!" I wailed.
He rubbed my back and sighed.
"I know..."
