Sharrkan and Yamuraiha continued to bicker, not noticing the child that had run up to them. Ada tugged on Sharrkan's robe, gaining his attention. His eyes wandered down to the girl, before he and Yamuraiha knelt to her level.
"what do you need kid?" He asked with his signature smirk, quietly boasting that she had picked him instead of his rival to talk to. Yamuraiha glared at him, picking up on his pride. Ada looked at him, before giving a closed eye smile and answering.
"Can you teach me how to use a sword?" The two generals were taken aback by her request.
"Why do you want to learn to fight?" The sorceress asked with concern, seeing as Sharrkan didn't know what to say. Ada looked over to Yamuraiha with a determined look."Because I want to be as brave and strong as Daddy!" She announced.
"You know, Kid...Swordplay can be kind of difficult. You've got to be willing to put in a lot of effort." Ada gave him a thumbs up and a confidant grin.
"I will!" She promised. Sharrkan smiled and gave her a thumbs up back.
"Then, yeah, I'll teach you!" He announced. By this point Yamuraiha was gone. She wasn't so sure it was a good idea to have Sharrkan teach the girl, but she didn't really feel like stopping them.
Sharrkan had the girl wait in the courtyard while he went to get some weapons. When he came back he tossed Ada a wooden sword. She clumsily caught it.
"For now, you'll fight with that." Ada looked at the sword, then back at Sharrkan, who was also holding a wooden sword, and gave a determined nod and "hm!"
"Alright, first thing's first! We've gotta work on your stance and grip!" Sharrkan gave her an example and told her to mimic him. Ada did as she was told. The man studied her for a moment, taking note of the flaws she was showing.
"You're right foot is too far forward, bring it back a bit." Ada did as she was told. "Your grip is wrong, your right hand should be above your left, and bring them down lower on the handle." Once again, Ada did as she was told. Sharrkan walked closer to her and adjusted the sword in her grip to the right spot. "You're leaning too far forward, you should stand up almost completely straight...And look ahead of you, not at your sword." Ada did everything he told her to. Once he had decided her pose was correct enough, he told her to set the sword next to her, and stand normal. Once she did that, he had her pick it back up and get into position. She did it over and over again. And it went just like that: get out of position, get back in position, adjust the ways Sharrkan told her, do it again.
The sun was setting by now, and Ada had taken breaks only to eat. Her stance was nearly perfected. Ja'far entered the courtyard and noticed Ada continuing the routine with Sharrkan watching.
"Is this where you've been all day?" He questioned Ada.
"Yeah! Sharrkan is teaching me how to use a sword!" She told Ja'far happily. Ja'far just smiled
"Well that's great, but its time to get ready for bed now." Ada nodded, before handing the wooden sword to Sharrkan. He took it, before saying goodnight to the girl.
"Are we gonna practice more tomorrow?" Ada asked him. Sharrkan nodded and gave a cocky smile.
"Of course!" And with that, Ada ran over to Ja'far and grabbed his hand, as he led the girl to her room. On the way, she told him all about what Sharrkan had taught her and how she can do the stance perfectly. The silver-haired man listened intently. She didn't stop talking until he had tucked her in. She fell asleep in a heartbeat.
