~~Justin's POV~~

After Shelby went upstairs, I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a paper towel, and wiped away the icing on my face. I threw it away and began helping Shelby's mom do the dishes. She washed, I dried.

"Justin, I need to tell you something." Ms. Miller said. I looked at her, curious as to what she was going to say.

"What is it?" I asked politely.

"Justin, I don't think you understand how much you really mean to her," I was confused as to who she was talking about but then I caught on. She's talking about Shelby.

"I have never seen her smile like that since...well, forever." I stopped drying and look at Miss Miller, a small tear crept down her cheek. "I have always been working, and with Kierstin being in college, back in Canada, Shelby has been alone almost most of her life. I have been a terrible mother, ignoring her when she wanted to hang out or go the movies or shopping." Miss. Miller shook her head disappointed in herself.

"She thinks I don't notice but I do. I notice how torn up she is. She cares about you so much. I remember when I was actually home. I remember hearing her crying in her room, when you and Selena once broke up. She was so upset that you were hurt." My chest feels like it could collapse at the memory. Was she really affected like that? "I came in there and she would tell me that she wanted to huge you, and tell you that she stills loves you. " Miss. Miller paused and looked at me with tears in her eyes.

"Justin. You saved her. She would cut, she would take pills; she would just sit in her room in the corner and just cry. When she talks about you, her face instantly lights up. She could talk about you all day. You were and still are her reason for her to smile. And Justin, I am so thankful." Miss, Miller said, as tears slipped her face. I felt a tear slip from my face as well. I never knew that it was that bad. "I'm sorry" Miss. Miller said with a laugh as she wiped her tears. I quickly wiped mine.

"It's fine. I'm glad you told me. I would have never thought it was that bad." I said, calming down.

"Yeah. I just wish she would stop doing that to herself." She sighed and turned back to the dishes. We continued finishing the dishes. I can't leave Shelby if she is gonna be doing that herself. She is gonna be alone when I leave again. I can't leave her if she could possibly hurt herself. I could never let that happen. Maybe I could take her on tour? I would have to ask Scooter, though. He told me before to not take fans on tour, no matter what. But Shelby is more than a fan...

After Miss. Miller and I finished the dishes and talking more about life and Shelby, I walked into the living room finding Kierstin and Shelby giggling to each other. They both heard me walk in and turned their heads looking at me. I raised my eyebrows, curious as to what they were giggling about.

"What's so funny?" I asked sitting down beside Shelby. They both instantly straightened up and cleared their throats.

"Umm nothing" Shelby said, trying not to laugh again.

"Tell me" I said with a smirk.

"Nothing", she giggled. I noticed her eyes looked up a little and back down to my eyes. I furrowed my eyebrows. Shelby looked slightly up again and sucked her lips in to keep herself from laughing.

I stood up a looked into a mirror that was in the hallway. There was icing on my forehead and in my hair. I looked over at the girls, and saw that they were laughing again but harder this time.

"Very funny!" I yelled as I continued to walk down the hallway and into the bathroom. I turned on the light. There was knock on the door, I opened the door and saw Shelby standing there blushing.

"Hey I figured I would help, since I was laughing at you." she said looking up to meet my eyes.

"Umm sure." I said stepping back to let her walk in.

~Shelby's POV~

I felt kinda bad for Justin since I could tell he was a little embarrassed. So I stood up from the couch and walked down to the bathroom. I knocked on the door. The door opened revealing Justin, with the soap still on his head.

"Hey I figured I would help, since I was laughing at you." I suggested looking up to meet his beautiful hazel brown eyes.

"Umm sure" He said letting me in. I walked in, and opened up a cabinet. I grabbed a small washcloth. I drenched a small corner of it and looked up at Justin who was sitting on the toilet (the seat was down of course). I looked down at him as he looked up. I took the soaked corner of the cloth and began wiping off the soap that was on his forehead.

"Hey umm, thanks again for everything today. It was the best birthday I have ever had." I said looking into his eyes.

He smiled, "Your welcome. I am happy that I helped." he said standing up when I finished cleaning his hair free of the soap. I put the cloth in the sink and was heading for the door, when Justin stopped me. I turned around to see Justin close to me. Closer than ever, we were almost an inch away.
