Meeting Ron

I sat in Transfiguration class, absentmindedly trying to turn a pencil into a broomstick. I just couldn't take my mind off Ron and what he wanted to meet about.

The day dragged on, and on, and on. The waiting was unbearable. But I somehow managed to get through it. Finally, Hermione and I were heading to Gryffindor common room to meet up with the boys. We all started to do our homework.

" Katie? Katie!" Hermione said anxiously. I looked up to see their bewildered faces. I had completely dazed off, thinking about Ron's wanting to meet with me so secretly.

" Huh? What, what happened?" I asked, completely confused myself.

" I've been asking you a question for the past five minutes!" Hermione explained.

" Oh! Um... Ya, OK. What's the question?" I said, trying to escape the conversation.

" Never mind that! Are you OK?" Hermione asked, ruining my plan.

" Ya, you've been kind of out of it all day." Harry said.

" No, guys, come on. I'm fine."

" No your not."

" Yes, yes I am."  It took fifteen more minutes to finally convince them that I was fine, even though I wasn't. But they finally stopped, reluctantly I might add. I also found it weird how no one noticed, but me and Ron, that he wasn't asking me anything. He had been pretty quiet the entire night. Then a thought occurred to me. Did Harry and Hermione know something I didn't?

" Anyways, what was your question, Hermione?"

" Oh. Um... What did you get for number four on the Arithmetic homework?" I told her my answer. We all continued to do our homework for another hour. Then we went to bed.

Hermione and I lay in bed, both knowing the other wasn't asleep. Hermione broke the silence after ten minutes.

" You can tell me you know."

" Tell you what?"

" Whatever it is that's bothering you. I won't tell anyone, not even Ron if you want."

" No, no. I'm fine."

" Whatever. Just tell me when your ready to confess. Just know I'll always be there for you."

" Thanks, Hermione. But I'm fine. Goodnight."

" Goodnight, Katie." After Hermione finally fell asleep, I put a spell on myself to wake up at 12:50 at night. Then I went to sleep.

As I had hoped, I woke up at 12:50 exactly. Being careful not to wake anyone, I got out of bed and put on a jacket. Then I grabbed my wand, just in case. I tip-toed my way down the stairs to the common room. I spotted Ron sitting near the door.

" Ron?" I whispered, sitting down next to him.

" Oh! Katie! Your here, finally."

" What do you mean finally? Ginny said one o' clock."

" Well, then she gave you the wrong message. That one was for Harry. You  were supposed to be here  at twelve thirty. Oh well."

" Wait, wait, wait. Harry?  What do you mean? Are you having private meetings with everyone?" I said, inexplicably getting upset.

" No. Just you, Harry, Ginny, and George. Now listen, I-"

" Wait. What about Hermione? You know, your girlfriend?!"

" Blimey, Katie! Will you just let me finish talking please?!" Ron said, his voice getting louder.

" Shh! Keep your voice down! It's one in the morning and apparently no one can know!" I whisper shouted.

" Fine, fine. Now if your ready to listen to me," he waited while I nodded impatiently, " OK. I have been having a meeting with you, Harry, George, and Ginny. It has to be so late and secret because I don't want any one else to know, especially Hermione."

"OK..." I said, now a little anxious.

" I want to propose..."
