It was Sunday and we were all in Herbology class. I helped Ron chop Mandrakes into tiny pieces. Professor Sprout let us out about 5 minutes after we finished.
With half an hour until Transfiguration, all the Gryffindors went up to our tower. We had just sat down to finish our Herbology homework, when George Weasley gave an excited cheer. People came around to look and also cheered. Curious we got up and pushed our way to the front. There was a piece of parchment stating that we were going to Hogsmeade next weekend.
" Oh this is great! I have never been there before!" I said excited.
" I just got an idea!" said Harry. He continued, " Katie and I could have our date there at The Three Broomsticks!"
" That's a great idea." I said.
We went back to our table to finish our homework. Ron promised Hermione a box of chocolate frogs. They made such a cute couple! Despite how they fought.
Soon enough our Hogsmeade field trip came. I was so excited. When we got there I was amazed. I had never been to a all magic town, other than Diagon Alley, if that even counts as a town. I was a half blood. Mom was a Muggle. Dad is a wizard.
We wen into Honey Dukes first. It was amazing. There were brightly colored wrappers everywhere, each containing a wonderful sweet inside. I saw Ron purchase some chocolate frogs. Maybe he didn't show it, but Ron was big softie.
I walked over to some more shelves and picked up a pack of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. I really wanted to try these. I also grabbed some Drooble's Best Blowing Gum. Then I grabbed 3 packs of chocolate frogs. I also picked up a bottle of pumpkin fizz. I wanted to grab one of the big chocolate frogs but decided against it. I wanted to get other things too.
I paid for my sweets and mat up with my friends. We walked out and to the post office. Everyone says that this place was magnificent. And they were right. Birds of every color, shape, and size were lined up on shelves as if stuffed animals. I had always wanted an owl, but my dad had said no.
Once we were done there we went to Zonkos. It was also beautiful. Rows and rows of practical jokes stood everywhere. I knew that George would love this place. Too bad Fred would never get to see it again. He would have loved it, even though he had already been there. I'm sure he would have wanted to see it once more. I can only imagine how it was with both the twins playing jokes.
Hermione and I scanned the love potions with Ginny. Obviously, Hermione and I had no need for this. But it did scare me a bit how serious Ginny looked. I knew she also liked Harry. That was really the only reason I don't hang out with her all the time.
I saw Ron looking at Wizard Chess sets. There seemed to be one he really liked. I watched as he pulled out a bag of coins and then put it away quickly-his face a tomato- as he strode away from that shelf. I felt bad for him, I knew his family was really poor.
I went over to it and saw that I could afford it. So I bought it and decided to give it to Ron for Christmas. Then I got thinking about what to get everyone else for Christmas.
I walked over to where Harry was. He was looking at some Quitidge books. I knew he would like that. So after he left to look at other things I bought that as well. I chose one entitled Be your Broomstick's Best Friend. I also got a book for Hermione. It was titled Godric Gryffindor: A Biography. I knew she would enjoy this. I laughed silently to myself as I thought of how I could buy biography's of all the founders of Hogwarts and give them to her separate. Then I could be done shopping for her birthday and Christmas for two years.
I ended up in the games section. I marveled at them all. It was quite amazing. I ended up getting myself an Exploding Snap game.
I wandered over to where Hermione was. She acknowledged me with, " Oh, hi! Didn't see you there." She chuckled nervously as she put something back on a shelf.
