Half an hour later we were at Hermione's house. It was just like I remembered it. Somewhat small, but cozy. It was on top of a small hill, which provided the house with a big backyard.
"Alright, well, you guys get settled. I'll make dinner, and we can all have a pleasant afternoon." said Hermione's mom.
"OK, we'll be in my room." Hermione said. We walked down the hallway and into her room. It had been so long since I've been here. I told her.
"I know! It's been years! Although, I have been thinking about redecorating. Built-in bookshelf would be nice and useful... Gryffindor flags couldn't hurt...."
"That would look nice. A bookshelf built into the wall, I have always wanted. But you could use with one more than I can." I said, eyeing the millions of books strewn across her... well, everywhere. She laughed.
"Don't act so innocent! I've seen your room before!" she laughed.
"Well, yeah. But only after one of my dad's rampages!" I giggled. I realized what I said, and the smile evaporated from both of our faces.
"You really don't want to see your dad?" Hermione asked quietly after a few minutes of silence had gone by. I shook my head. "Katie, eventually yo-"
"No, I don't. I am eighteen. That's a legal adult in the wizarding and muggle world. I can do what I want."
"But-"
"Hermione, no. Would you want to see your dad if it were him in prison? Because I very much doubt you would." She sighed.
"I'm never going to give up on this."
"I know. But neither am I."
"Girls! Dinner!" Mrs. Granger called out. We got up and went to the kitchen.
We got up and went into the kitchen. Mrs. Granger had made a fantastic chicken and rice dish with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans. It was delicious.
"Wow, Mrs. Granger, this is so good! I had forgotten how good your cooking was!"
"Oh, this? I just whipped up a little something..." she beamed at me. For desert we had lemon brownies. Then, after dinner, we watched a movie.
"Luckily, tomorrow is Saturday. We both have the day off, so we can all do something together." Mrs. Grange said after the movie ended.
"That should be fun. But for now, I think we all ought to get to bed." Mr. Granger said. So, we all went back into our rooms.
"I had forgotten how much I loved staying over." I said to Hermione.
She laughed and said, "I know, it'd been so long! But, your here now."
"Yeah, I guess I am. And, thanks, for letting me be here. If you hadn't invited me, I would've been stuck at Hogwarts alone!"
"Oh, don't be silly. I am a hundred percent positive Ron would have invited you. Harry would've been excited for that," she said. I blushed. Hermione continued, "Or Draco would've invited you to his Manor." I blushed again.
"Speaking of them, who is winning?" she asked.
"Oh, I don't know... But, I think I might be leaning towards Harry." Her face lit up, annoying me.
"Sorry, I... Well, you know that I am rooting for Harry. But still, you shouldn't let anyone affect your decision."
"Yeah..." I shrugged. I really didn't feel like talking about them at the moment. "Speaking of boys... What about you and Ron? What's going on there?" Hermione blushed.
"Oh, well, I... uh, I don't know. We are doing fine as a couple." I nodded. Hermione yawned.
"Well, that's it for me. I'm going to bed." she said.
"Yeah, me too. I'm pretty tired." We changed into our pajamas.
The next morning we all went to the mall. I had been there many times with the Granger family. But that was years ago. Hermione and I went to all of the muggle shops I hadn't shopped in for years. It was then that I realized how much of the muggle world I was missing.
We had decided to get Ron and Harry something from the muggle stores. Finally, we decided on a whole bunch of gifts from a muggle joke shop. We also got George something we thought he could use in his own joke shop- Weasley Wizard Wheezes.
Two hours later we met up in the food court with her parents. We had sushi, something I had, again, not eaten in a long time. Then we went back to Hermione's house.
But soon after we had gotten back, we left again. There was a new movie coming out today, supposedly directed by Kenneth Branagh. It was quite good. When we came back me and Hermione just hung out, like normal teenage girls. And that was a scary thought.
Hey guys! I am so sorry that I haven't updated in like three weeks. I really don't even know what happened. And sorry this chapter is pretty boring. I am hereby telling you that the next one will probably be too. Also, it's October 4! So happy birthday to the best and most bad ass teacher on this planet- Professor McGonagall! Also sorry about the inaccuracy. I know it's Halloweenish time now and Easter in the story. And that I didn't celebrate Halloween and instead Easter- I know it's not accurate in the wizarding world. And lastly, thanks for reading! Comment and vote! Especially if you caught the name of the director that directed the movie they went and saw.
