Potter, Be Mine

Separated

I ran. And ran, and kept on running. I could hear the my pounding footsteps on the stones, soon followed by three more pairs. I could feel the tears threatening to fall. But I didn't care. 

I kept on running, through corridors, past classrooms, up stairs. I could sense that my best friends and Harry were catching up. I sped up, actually not hearing them for a second, when I tripped. I was left sprawled on the floor, in pain. Then, they caught up with me. 

" Katie? Katie! Are you OK?" Hermione asked, coming around the corner with the boys. I looked away from them. 

"Katie? Are you hurt?" Ron asked, trying not to look worried about my leg. But he was failing. 

" Just leave me alone!" I shouted. I was mad, I was infuriated. 

" Katie it's not what-" Harry began, I cut him off. 

" Go away! All of you!" I screamed. 

" Katie, listen it wasn't Harry's fau-" Ron started. I cut one of them off again.

" Really Ron?! I saw it! Harry kissed Ginny! Not to mention the fact that he proposed to me yesterday! Are you really going to take his side?!" Hermione looked around at us all, anxious and worried.

" Um... Katie, maybe we should just take you to the Hospital Wing." Hermione suggested. 

" No!" I yelled. 

" Katie, look, you have to understand! I-" Harry started again. 

" I don't want to talk to you!" I hollered, hysterical by now. 

" Well, well, well. What's this? Potter can't get his girlfriend to forgive him? Who would've guessed? Oh wait, everyone!" Draco Malfoy said, suddenly appearing in the corridor with his girlfriend Triss, who was a former friend of mine. 

" What do you want, you foul little-" Harry began. 

" Harry!" I said. He looked at me desperately. I said nothing else. Draco and Triss laughed. 

" What are you doing here? Did you get lost? Didn't think even you were that stupid." Ron scowled. 

" Shut it, Weasley! Now, is it true that Potter proposed to Katie?" We all looked at him, all of us giving it away. 

" Ha! No, no, no Potter. I thought we all decided that Katie was just a bit blind sided by your fame and decided to go out with you. We all knew she was going to be coming to me! Leaving behind all of you horrible little brats. I mean someone as beautiful as her shouldn't be hanging around with a muggle obsessed family, some brat whose parents are dead, and not to mention a mud blood." My face went a deep red, partly from anger and partly from blushing. 

" Ya? At least we aren't Death Eater's!" Ron said savagely.  Draco gave him a death glare. 

" Well, now that you've come to your senses, what do you say? Come on Katie, your my girlfriend now." Draco said. 

No one was prepared for that. Harry looked at more desperately than ever, Hermione looked at me more anxious that I thought was humanly possible, Ron silently pleaded me not to with his eyes, and Triss stared at Draco in utter shock. I looked around at all of them, tempted to launch myself into Draco's chest and also tempted to launch a dagger into Draco's chest.

" Draco, help me up." I said. He smiled and quickly shrugged off  Triss, who had been clinging to him as if for dear life, and helped me up. Harry, Ron, and Hermione looked at me, their eyes wild. 

" Let's go." I whispered. Malfoy had me lean on him and we started to walk when suddenly I felt his hand start to travel downward from my back to my rear end. Harry must have seen this, because before I knew it Harry had slapped away Draco's hand and pulled me away. 

" Please, Katie. Don't do this. You have to understand that it wasn't what it looked like!Go ahead, ask Ron. But even of you don't believe two of your best friends, don't do this. Be mad, go ahead, just don't date Draco! He is a horrible-" Harry suddenly fell to the floor, Draco punched him. I fell alongside Harry, landing on my already hurt leg. I screamed in agony. 

" Katie!" Hermione yelled, running to help me up. Ron and Harry had ganged up against Draco, their wands pointed at him and his at them. 

"Guys, don't." I said flatly. Harry and Ron glanced at each other and reluctantly put their wands down. I limped over to Draco and fell into his arms, accidentally.  

We walked away, leaving Harry, Hermione,Ron, and Triss completely bewildered. So instead of going to the infirmary with my best friends and the man I loved, I went with Draco, the guy I loathed and still did.
