Chapter 16

As we enter the school, everyone seem to be minding their own business. I wonder what had happen down here.. Did we change principal or something? Because if we did, there should an announcement last week.. 

"Why does everybody seem to be like.. acting normal?" Toby whisper, "I was about to ask you the same question," I replied. 

We continue walking and went to our lockers, grabbing our books for our first period which is History. Oh god, why do we still have to learn when history, is history?! 

-School bell rang-

Everybody started walking towards their first class and they were scrambling everywhere! Okay, this is pretty weird..

-Lunch time- 

Pretty much, lesson has seem to move on very fast.. and our History teacher had told us that we had a new vice principal and he is very strict. So that is why the students are acting weird.. But what did he do to make them.. sad? Or.. scared? 

"Hey you want to go and grab some lunch? Or..?" Toby tried to light up the mood since the hallway towards the cafeteria is very quiet, just a few chatters here and there.. But still, it feels like I'm in a deserted island.. It used to be noisy and students would make lot's of noise and run around like cats and dogs.. 

"Nah, I don't feel like eating, I'm going to the library to see if they have new books installed!" I smile happily at the thought of new books. Okay, I might be a bookworm and a nerd.. but I'm proud! Okay maybe not alright? 

"You and your books." Toby roll his eyes and we set off towards the library. 

As we enter, the whole place was extremely quiet, usually it's a little noisy but not the kind of loud and shouting but just people discussing. Quickly, I walk towards the school librarian and her name is Mrs. Quinn. She is nice but she looked boring since her face is expressionless; like there is no joyful spirit in her, but once you got to know her, she is really friendly and you can finally see her happy side of her! And oh, her spectacles were the ones like my grandma used. Yeah.. she is old.. 

But my main point is that, she is nice. 

"Hello Mrs. Quinn," I said to her as she was stamping books and stacking them at aside. 

"Oh hello Ms. James, how are you? You feel alright? What brings you here?" she bombarded me with lot's of question. 

"I'm good, and I was wondering if is there any new books arrive?" I ask eagerly, hoping she would say a yes. 

"Apparently we only have one, I'm not sure about the rest of the books though. It should arrive by tomorrow, I hope," she look at me and gave a kind smile. 

"Oh, but you do have that one new book right? Can I have a look at it?" 

"Oh sure," she rummaged through the stacked of books and finally found it, "here it is, and Rose? Do you have the other book you'd borrowed last week?" 

"Yep, and thanks," she handed me the book while I unzip my bag and found the book I had finished reading. I gave it to her and then took a look at the new book. Well, it seems nice but I think it's not my type of book. I most preferably is Fantasy. I'm a sucker for that. 

"Well, I'll come back soon and see if the new books arrive. Now I have to go because I think my friend over there," I pointed towards Toby who was staring into thin air, "seemed really bored now.. bye Mrs. Quinn," I wave good bye to her and grab Toby's hand.

School ended all ready and I'm on my way to a convenient store to buy the things my mum had asked me to buy. Toby couldn't tag along since he is making a new music video with his brothers so I'm alone. All by myself.  

I enter the store and started wandering off, finding the eggs then the bread and maybe buying a few things if  I had enough money. "Eggs.. eggs.. where art thou are yo- oh!" I quickly stop in my tracks and turn to see who I had bump into (geesh, I always seems to be bumping into people). Well, the thing is that she is a girl who I never seen in my entire life, not even in school. "Sorry there! I was not paying attention to where I was going," I helped her up and then I finally can take a good look at her, "Nah, it's alright," she said while fixing her glasses. She had long dark brown hair which you could almost see is like black, grey eyes which made her seem really mysterious kind of thing.. 

"Oh, okay," I nodded my head slowly, well she look much prettier than me. "Anyways, I'm Lizette. But my friends calls me Liz for short, what's your's?" 

"I'm Roselle, but you can call me Rose," I told her. Why is she talking to me? Wouldn't she find me a loser or.. I don't know, something? I wonder where has she been living.. though she look different, since her accent doesn't seem American.

"Anyways, where are you from? Your accent says it all," I ask her, yeah a stupid question to ask. But I just want to know.. "Oh, I'm from Australia," she said and then sticking out her hand for me to shake on.

"Nice, I'd always wanted to go visit Australia, seems really interesting," I clasp my hand against her's and we give a firm shake. 

"Well maybe one day you could, it's a beautiful place down there," I just nodded my head in response since I have no idea what to say anymore. Then here comes the awkward silence.. 

"So, you wanna hang out sometimes?" Out of nowhere she just ask that question. Did she really ask me to hang out with her? I finally gonna have a friend? Well beside Toby and his brother and they are boys, but this is a girl! 

"Oh sure," the words just slips out of my mouth. Mentally I face palm myself. We then swap numbers and then said our good byes but I still had to carry on shopping and I even haven't found the eggs yet!

 HEY GUYS! Well I've added a new character! YAY! Hm.. I still don't know what kind of personality for Liz would be.. Any ideas/suggestions? Would love to see you guys ideas! And oh, I don't know whether Liz would be involve in a lot of chapters, but I'll try to! alright, I have to go now, gonna write chapter 17!
