The both of us then started up the game console and began choosing which game we should use and challenge. Finally deciding on Mario Carts, I handed one of the controllers to Toby and one to myself and went to seat on the couch beside him. The game loaded and I was really excited for this. I might had played Mario Carts for quite a long time now and was obsessed with it. Toby had the command controller which allows him to pick the mode or level he wants.
"Okay, just to let you know before we start. I am a.. Well a master in Mario carts and has always been," Toby boasted, "and so don't cry if you lose from the master." He then began to do some weird hand gestures at me before making an explosion sound at the end.
I just stare at him in disbelief and replied, "Oh really? Well let's see who is better at this game then." I challenge him and that leads us to an epic battle of Mario carts. For the first round, I was ahead of him and kept disrupting him but as we were about to race to the finishing line, he attacked me and zoom pass me, winning the first round. Well, that is how he play huh? Time for the champion to show what she has got up in her sleeves.
"Hm.. Ready to back down now?" Toby cockily said. I turn to look at him and narrowed my eyes before answering, "Not yet, master. You don't know what I got."
So then we played the second round and I had it all planned out up in my head on how to win the race. It is a secret that I shan't tell because well, it is a secret. I have been using it for a long time now and always win every race, well maybe not every race. I was almost near the finishing line and quickly race towards it within seconds in a blink of an eye. Oh yeah! Go, Rose!
I slowly turn my head to glance at Toby who was in total shock. His mouth gap open a little and his eyes just glued to the screen. I smirk in triumph and let out a victory sigh that grabs his attention. He look at me and began to stumble on his words.
"But.. How.. You.. You just.. Huh?!"
I smirk at him and patted his shoulder, "You think you're the best huh? Well you just witnessed the champion in Mario cart! Like I said, you don't know what I got." I pretend to roll up my imaginary sleeves with full of pride.
Now the score is tied.
After a few rounds and more rounds, I won the race and even did my victory dance. This just proves that girls can be better at boys in gaming and I am now satisfied with it.
"YES, I WON! BEAT THAT TOBY!" I yelled happily, grinning from ear to ear. I was crazily dancing and jumping around the house. I am really hype right now, blood was rushing throughout my entire body and felt so giddy after the scene I made.
"Yeah yeah." Toby dully replied and pull me by the waist, making me fall on top of him. He then showered me with soft kisses on my arm and hug me as tightly as he can.
"Who knew my princess could be a better gamer than me huh?" He said as he planted another kiss on my cheek making my face go red which can resemble a red balloon.
"It takes practice to be a better gamer Tobes," I answered truthfully. After what seem like only seconds, we then began to resumed playing Mario Carts because we were bored. This time round we did not wanted to challenge each other, we decided on having a good sportsmanship match thing where if we win or lose, it does not matter at all. It feels nice to have this kind of game thing going on with us because it means that we have something in common which is playing video games.
And I also don't mind having quiet moments with him as well. It is hard to find time like this, like only the both of us and we could just be with each other and keeping us company with our presence or just enjoying it. I am not used to having someone accompanying me every day at home because my mum was busy and we don't have a man in the house. It was usually just me alone at home, literally doing nothing but studying until my brain explodes. Also when you are alone at home, and you hear a sound or noise coming from downstairs, your mind instantly click that there is somebody in your home who has break in.
I would crunched up into a ball and hide in the corner of my room and imagine that there would be a shield around me as if that would help protect me from the bad guy who has break in. But now, with Toby around I feel safe. Even though he lives next door, I still would feel safe because I know him. He is my first ever friend, my first crush to be more precise. And having that securing feeling just makes me feel protected.
