A few days have passed and nothing really eventful has happened. We've been sent out on minor missions that don't take too long. Today I was just lounging outside with Arietta and Legretta.
"It's so nice not having to go fighting everyday anymore." Legretta said lightly.
"I agree, though it does tend to get kind of boring now that there's nothing to do." That's when I stood up to back inside. "I'm going to get a snack, be right back." I turned and that's when I felt a sharp pain in my head. I dropped to my knees.
"Zora!" That cry from Arietta caused everyone else to come outside including Van.
"What's wrong?" Sync asked coming to my side, but all I could hear really was the sound of my heart beating in my head.
Zora, please just listen to me for a minute
Ion!? You're alive?!
Yes, but I'm not here to talk to you about that. It's about your Goddess Fonic Hymns. You could save the entire world including the people who have already died if you would just come and listen to us for ten minutes.
Why should I listen to you?
Because if you don't then this world will be destroyed and you will never have your family back, even if they came back as replicas they wouldn't be your family. They would be copies of the originals and they wouldn't remember you at all. Do you really want that?
I want to be free, I want to be free from all the darkness that is in my heart and this is the only way to do that.
No it's not, if you would just listen to me Zora.
Go away!
Zora...please...
GO!
In an instant the headache disappeared and Ion's voice disappeared from my head. I looked up at everyone who was looking at me worried.
"What happened?" I looked away and stood up.
"They're still alive, they didn't die in Akzeriuth." I said and looked out at the horizon.
"So you heard one of them, which one?" Van asked.
"Ion." I said without any emotion.
"You protected him at the Sephiroth, why?" He asked.
"I...I don't know..." I said lightly.
"You care for them all still don't you?" He pressed. I clenched my fists.
"Zora." Sync said.
"Well excuses me for still being attached to people from my old life. Ion was my friend, Jade was my caretaker and like a father to me. What about you Van, does Tear mean nothing to you. Is that why you tried to save her from dying at Akzeriuth?" I turned sharply and glared at him.
"You're right, it's hard to let go of others. But you'll have to do it this time because I want you to kill Jade." I froze when he said those words.
"Why me?" I asked without any hesitation.
"To prove to me that you are truly on our side. Now go. And don't come back until you succeed." I sighed and turned.
"Fine." I jumped away from everyone and finally disappeared into a hyperresonance. The good part about having Goddess Fonic Artes is I can create a controlled hyperresonance on my own without any help from someone else.
I appeared in the nearest city; Daath. I headed towards the chapel knowing that was where they would have gone if they came here. I knew Ion had to have been pretty close by to use that connection. This would have to be the place. I walked into the chapel and saw Ion on the floor with everyone surrounding him.
