The song belongs to the Fray not me so before anyone gets mad.  All of her Fonic Hymns are songs by other artists too, I just thought they fit better for some of the chapters.

A week has passed and still nothing has really happened to my body. I was starting to think the doctor was lying to scare me into staying there.

"So how are you feeling, Zora?" Ion asked me as we walked.

"I'm fine." I said smiling brightly at him. He smiled back just as bright.

"So it's time?" Anise asked.

"Time to stop Van, yes. We have to go to the Absorption Gate to stop him from stopping the Planet Storm." Luke said. I looked up at the area around us.

"Van..."

"Zora, are you okay with doing this?" Ion asked.

"Yes, I made my peace with this a long time ago. Van was going to kill me anyways when I came back so I might as well take him down with me if I have to." I looked up at the gate.

"Don't talk like that. You're coming back with us." Luke said and I looked at the ground, smiling lightly.

"You're right. I'm sorry." We all headed inside the Sephiroth. I could see it went down very far.

"Well we definitely have our work cut out for us." I muttered and that's when an earthquake started. I stumbled a little as I saw the ground break out from Luke and Tear.

"Luke, Tear!" I called out to them.

"We'll just have to find them as we go down." Jade said. I looked down and that's when a bright light appeared from the depths. It wrapped around me and pulled me down towards the Sephiroth.

"Zora!" Ion called out.

"Just keep going. I'll be fine!" I called out and that's when I landed on the ground somewhere. My body was shaken up by the sudden drop, but when I looked up I saw Van standing there staring down at me.

"Zora, it's nice to see you again." I backed away a little.

"Van..." He held a hand out to me but I backed away more as I got to my feet.

"I'm not going to hurt you. I had Sync and Legretta come to make the last Goddess Fonic Hymn come out." I shivered a little.

"You knew my body would reject the Fonons in my body if I started opening the doors to the Sephiroth didn't you?" He sighed.

"I wouldn't have wished it on you, but Ion wasn't helping much with his bodyguards so it was better to have someone else do it, but Sync wasn't strong enough to use the powers, but you were. I am very sorry." I shook my head and pulled out my sword.

"You couldn't wait for me to die could you?!" I growled.

"Now that wasn't my intention, but if you insist on fighting then I have no other choice. Goodbye Zora." I jumped into the air as he slashed out at me. Our swords clashed together and I glared at him.

"You know I looked up to you as a father figure. You were so much better than my original father." He threw me away and I landed a little bit away from him.

"Then why do you choose to fight me now?" He asked.

"Because you're trying to destroy the world I love!" I charged him.

"Zora!" I heard Luke and the others come running towards us.

"Stay back!" I growled and flipped away from Van, in front of them.

"What do you mean stay back! This is our fight too!" Luke said.

"No it's not...I shouldn't have walked away from my country without a second thought. This is for them, this is for Kimlasca, this is for Sync." I charged Van and slashed out at him.

"Then you haven't told them about your illness." He said.

"What?" Ion asked shocked like everyone else aside from Jade.

"Your little Zora has been hiding the fact that she has a fatal illness in her body that could kill her in a moment's notice. Her Fonons are starting to reject her body and soon she'll die due to heart failure or lung failure." I slashed his chest and he backed away.

"It's true I'm going to die, but if I die here then I'll be damned if you don't die with me, Van." I slammed my sword down into the ground.

"Zora, don't!" Jade called out but it was too late.

"Step one you say we need to talk, he walks you say sit down it's just a talk, smiles politely back at you, you stare politely right on through. Some sort of window to your right, as he goes left and you stay right, between the lines of fear and blame you begin to wonder why you came." A bright light surrounded my body.

"This Hymn, it's..." Van trailed off.

"It's the last and most powerful...the Battle Hymn..." Jade said from behind me. "But this Hymn requires the uses of an entire song.

"Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend, somewhere along in the bitterness. And I would have stayed up with you all night, had I known how to save a life."

"Then we have to protect her until the Hymn is ready." Tear said and started charging Van as he took a step towards me. "That's what she wants us to do, don't you dare try to stop her from doing what she knows is the right thing to do." I wanted to cry she was standing up for what I believed in, but I had to concentrate.

"Let him know that you know best, cause after all you do know best. Try to slip past his defense, without granting innocence. Lay down a list of what is wrong, the things you've told him all along. And I pray to God he hears you, and I pray to God he hears you. Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend somewhere along in the bitterness. And I would have stayed up with you all night, had I known how to save a life." All of my friend were trying so hard to keep the world we all believed in and I couldn't lose my faith now. I know this is going to kill me probably, but I would die knowing I had given it everything I got.

"It's halfway done; we can't lose now." Luke called out.

"As he begins to raise his voice, you lower yours and grant him one last choice. Drive until you lose the road or break with the ones you've followed. He will do one of two things he will admit to everything or he'll say he's just not the same and you'll begin to wonder why you came." It was almost done. Just one last verse and I was done.

"Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend, somewhere along in the bitterness. And I would have stayed up with you all night, had I known how to save a life. How to save a life. How to save a life..." I jumped past everyone with unimaginable speed and slashed my sword out appearing on the other side of Van. He dropped his sword and dropped to his knees.

"So it's true, the powers of the Goddess really are far more powerful than I expected. Zora, you were a fool to not stay on our side." I heard Van say. I dropped to my knees feeling my chest start to ache.

"Shut up...you took Sync away from me..." I collapsed to the ground.

"Zora!" Ion's voice was the last thing I heard as I faded into my sub consciousness.

Sync...forgive me for not realizing sooner...I love you...
