Ch. 17

Third Person

Sting stood up, glaring at Rouge, "You better not talk anymore about it."

Rouge snickered, "Why not? It's funny."

"It's embarrassing!" Sting whined. Lucy was still seated on the bench, watching the two cousins bicker.

"Exactly, that's why it's funny!" Sting groaned.

Rouge only shrugged, "I'm going to tell her just not here."

Lucy's phone went off, catching the two boys attentions. Picking up the phone, Lucy started a conversation with who's was calling.

Hanging up the phone, she turned towards Sting and Rouge, "Do you guys mind taking a road trip?"

"How much longer till we're there?" Sting asked, keeping his eyes on the road. Lucy sat in the passenger seat and Rouge sat in the back.

"Just a few more miles and we'll be at the gate. You'll know what gate I'm talking about, trust me." Lucy answered, sending a text to Laxus and letting him know where they're going.

"Can I tell you the story now?" Rouge was eager about telling Lucy about Sting getting kidnapped by Tartarus. Lucy looked at her friend next to her then nodded at the other.

"Okay so I'm pretty sure you've know him pretty well by now so you should have experienced his smart mouth.

"This dumbass encountered one of them, not knowing who they were, and started arguing with him. It's like all the salt and sass in his body came out all at once. Of course the Tartarus member got angry. What was worse was that that member was probably the most hot-headed one in their group.

"He started to fight Sting. Thank god this idiot over here is good at close combat and could defend himself because it would've been embarrassing to be KO'd by one punch.

"But in the end, he was knocked out," Rouge chuckles. "They took him to one of their hideouts. I'm guessing that's where all of their victims are taken but I may be wrong.

"Anyways, that same guy had Sting chained to the wall and started to beat him. Overall it was funny."

Lucy laughed a little, "Did you know the guys name?"

"Yeah his name was Jackal. He's tall, has dark blonde hair that reaches his shoulders, and sharp teeth. To me, he looks like an animal."

Something clicked in Lucy's mind, "Wait, so how did you escape?! I wouldn't expect a Mafia to let their victims escape alive." Sting clicked his tongue, but didn't answer.

"Sheesh, we had to go– ah!" Sting slammed on the brakes, scaring Lucy and Rogue.

"What the hell Sting!"

"That has to stay a secret!"

"Okay okay sheesh! No need to scare the shit out of us just to shut me up."

Lucy stared at the road trying to slow her heart rate but questioned why her blonde friend reacted that way.

"The Heartfilia Konzern... This is where you used to live!?" The two boys exclaimed in unison.

"Yeah!"

"I knew your family was rich but I didn't know they were this rich!"

Lucy got out of the car and headed towards the gate. She pressed a button and there was a buzzing sound.
