Ch. 16

Third Person

There they sat at a bench somewhere in Blossom Park. Ice cream in their hands, speaking to each other about a serious topic.

Now, ever since Lucy started talking about it, Sting's been extremely nervous. He knows something that, of course, she doesn't.

Lucy kept picking at her strawberry ice cream, frustrated that Sting is hesitating to tell her about Natsu's father, Igneel's kidnapping. Of course he'd know about it, he's the pink-haired boy's friend after all.

Sting on the other hand is trying to distract himself with his apple crisp with vanilla ice cream and cinnamon covered peaches. He doesn't know where to begin with what he wants to tell his blonde friend.

With a sigh, he places his cup to his side and rubs his face.

"This gang is one that has been going on for a long time," he began in a hushed voice. "They're main objective is to kidnap or kill on the spot those that will take over a company that rejected them in any way. Most of the time, they just kill for their own entertainment."

"Do you know the name of the group?"

"....I-uh...I do but I'm not going to tell you." Lucy was quick to turn her body towards him with a bothered expression.

"Why not!?"

"Lucy, I know that if I tell you you're going to go searching for them! They're nothing you can handle! Those guys are complete monsters. When they find a victim, they torture them." His hands flew to her shoulders, giving them a squeeze. "Promise me– Promise me that you won't try anything if I tell you about the group you won't try anything."

"Fine, fine but why do you seem so-"

"What are you guys doing?" A new, deep voice interrupted Lucy. They both looked up quick. A man stood there, his black  hair pulled back in a messy ponytail, and his red eyes with slit pupils similar to that of a snake's staring at the two blondes having a serious talk. He wore a grey muscle shirt, black cargo pants and black vans.

"Rouge!"

"Lucy meet Rogue, my cousin. Rogue meet Lucy, my friend." Sting wore a toothy grin. Lucy and Rogue smiled at each other and shook hands. She noticed his abnormal sharp canines, taking note that he's one of those guys, just like Sting, Laxus, Gajeel, Erik and Natsu.

"You never answered my question..."

"Oh we were just talking about Tartarus," Sting replied without a care in the world. He clearly forgot about how he was hesitating to tell Lucy the name.

Rogues eyes went wide and he punched Sting's shoulder, "What the hell man! You can't say their name in public like its no big deal! Remember what happened last time!" He half whispered, half yelled. Sting shuddered.

"Eh– care to explain?" You could hear the confusion in Lucy's voice.

Sting quickly shook his head, staring at Rogue with a demanding look. On the other hand, the dark haired teen saw no problem with telling Lucy everything.

The corners of Rogue lips twitched, "Sting was kidnapped last year by that gang."

Sorry for the short chapter ): Its kind of hard to write with writers block but the next chapter should be out soon.

School starts next week on the 6th and I'm definitely not excited to be a freshman lol.
