Chapter 7 - Niall

As the lads and I finished our day at the beach we climbed onto the bus. Harry announced that I had something to tell them. I sat down on the couch and all my best mates surrounded me, patting my back reassuringly and comfortingly. "What is it Niall?" they all said at different times except for Harry. 

Harry started off for me by telling the lads what happened at the beach. "He thought he saw his long lost childhood friend Tess".

"Who?"

"There was no one else on the beach"

"What happened to Tess?"

Questions were fired at me and Harry yelled at them to stop as he noticed tears were lining my eyes. "Tess was my best friend. We did everything together and we were inseparable. On our 7th birthday, I sang her a song and in return she gave me this charm bracelet". I said taking off the bracelet. I had never taken it off and because of that i had it repaired several times. "When I entered the X-factor, she didn't make it through. I thought i didn't either. We all thought that. But when we were told we were joined together to form a band, I forgot that Tess was waiting outside for me. I was so happy. Then I was told I wasn't allowed to contact her". I looked down in the hope that my tears would go away. "She must of gotten a new number because I coulnd't call her, I didn't know what she looked like now, I didn't where she lived".

My best mates all looked at me with sorrw and pity in their eyes. I looked up at them with tears starting to make their way down my cheeks. They all hugged me and rubbed my back. "We'll find her Niall. Dont worry" Harry reassured me. I looked down at my bracelet. It was the only memory I had of her. 

AT THE CONCERT

As we appeared on the stage the arenaa exploded into screams. We started with The Best Song Ever and as I was singing my part a girl caught my eye. She looked so familiar. Her brown eyes sparkled just like how I remembered Tess' brown eyes. I tried to show my bracelet to her whilst trying to act natural at the same time but I don't think she saw it. 

After we finished the song I called for Paul to come on stage and I pointed to the girl and told him to guide them to our dressing room after the concert. He nodded and disappeared into the shadows. 

When the concert ended I would usually be exhausted and zombie-like but I felt full of energy. After so many years I might be seeing Tess. I had told the lads and they were excited and happy for me but they were exhausted. I heard a grunt "Niall the girls are here" and I walked out from behind the door and said "Hello". She jumped slightly as if she recognised my voice or  I walked toward the girl that I thought was Tess and made eye contact with her the whole way. She seemed to be searching me and as her eyes made their way down my wrist her jaw dropped and she whispered "Oh my god..."

"What?" I asked

"Y-y-your bracelet... I gave it to my best friend Niall on our 7th birthday. He sang me a song and I gave him..." and she pointed to my bracelet

"Tess?" I asked quietly "Tess? Is that you? Tess Gray?" I asked more urgently. I looked down at her wrist. There perfectly fitting her tiny wrist was a matching bracelet.

*FLASHBACK*

"Thankyou Tess!" I screeched as i kissed her on the cheek. She held my hand. I looked down at our hands, fingers entertwining.

"Look! Now we have matching bracelets!"

"I love you Tess"

"I love me too Niall. Everyone does."

"HEY!"

"I'm only joking. I love you too"

*FLASHBACK ENDS*

Tears started to blind my vision at the thought of our 7th birthday.

- Tess -

"Niall?"

"Tess. My Tess. I FOUND YOU!"

We embraced in a hug filled with tears, disappearing pain and jumping hearts. We pulled out of the hug and asked if we could be left alone. After all the girls and boys left, Niall and I jumped into each others hearts again and cried on eachothers shoulders. "I've missed you so much. Tess...My Tess... your finally back"

"How come you never came back Ni? Why? I can understand why you didn't call. I got a new number. But why didn't you come back?" Tears started to roll down my Best friends cheeks. I could feel the tiny droplets starting to dampen my shoulder as her tears made contact with my skin. we pulled back and I looked at her straight in the eye.

"I know, I'm so sorry Tess. I wanted to call and tell you where I was but when we got called to talk to the judges they told us that we weren't allowed to contact our loved ones. That means you. I wanted to look for you and tell you what happened but we weren't allowed. And when I say we I mean Louis, Harry, Liam and Zayn. We all weren't allowed to contact our loved ones and it was killing us. I tried calling you after the competition but the number never connected. I figured that you must have gotten a new number. I went to your house but there was no one there. So I thought you moved away to someother place in the world where I'd have no chance in finding you. Tess? Will you forgive me?"

"Yes Ni. I forgive you. BUT don't ever leave me again. Got it?"

"I promise"

We embraced in another hug. "You know when you didn't come back I would just lie on the trampoline everyday, thinking about you, wishing that you'd come back. And now, I've found you". I started playing with the charm bracelet that I gave him all those years ago. I was glad that he still wore it. I played with the little charms. The paint was still in quite good condition. Niall started playing with my bracelet and we looked up at eachother and hugged again. I kissed him on the cheek and he returned the favour. "You have no idea how much I missed you Ni"

"AWWWWWW!" we heard a chorus of awwes from our friends. "Niall have you made your descision?" Liam asked

"Yep, I have" I said with a smile.
