Chapter 24 - Niall

Chpater 24 - Niall

"I'm sorry Harry" I said as we walked out of the hpspital. I knew he felt bad. I would too. We were going to visit Tess tomorrow while Cara and Iz stayed behind. Tess had a fairly large hospital room. There was a hard bed, a TV hanging off the wall, a wardrobe, a bathroom and a sofa bed. All we could do was wish Tess a speedy recovery. It's going to be so hard for her to travel with a bandanged leg. 

We don't leave Australia for another month but  we leave Queensland in 2 days. That reminds me, /i have to get to rehearsal. "Lets go boys!" I yell from downsatirs. 

Liam looked at me. "Usually I'm the one chasing you all around". I just shrug and get my bag and climb into the car. I wait for about 5 mins and all the boys stampede towards the car. I look back at the house and there at the door is Cara and Iz waving us off. I thought to my self "Tess would be there. Tess would be waving us off". I shake the thought away and pay attention to Liam. "Niall? Are you hungry? I brought some cookies"

"Thanks" I say polietly before opening the brown paper bag and taking out 2 cookies. One for me and one for Harry. I smile at Harry genuinely and he accepts it crunching down on the flavoursome treat. After a good 38 min drive we arrive at the arena. We see girls already lining up outside even though the gates don't open until 6 hours. We rehearse, check the sound systems and rehearse again and then we have a break. 

I see two girls come into the arena. We were too far away to see who they were and at first we thought they were fans. "Zayn!" yelled a familiar voice. 

"Liam!" said another voice. Then I realise that it is Cara and Iz. Zayn and Iz run into eachothers arms and so do Cara and Liam. They kiss and my heart fills up with jealousy. That could be me and Tess. 

*sniff sniff*

"I-Is that Nandos?" Cara and Iz nod their heads. I quickly run over to the bag of delicious smelling chicken and pull out a classic pita with lemon and herb sauce. I couldn't take any chilli. I'd start crying, snot running down my face. Not a pretty sight. After we eat, we go back to the hospital to see how Tess is doing. We had a talk to the doctor. 

"How's Tess" I ask anxiously. 

"She's doing great. She can leave today if she wants. She just has to put an ointment on the site and then bandage it with a non-adhesive bandage everyday 2 times a day. When she goes into the shower she has to be careful to make sure the skin doesn't rip off. The skin around the site is damaged and needs to be taken care of. That is what the ointment is for. The skin will eventually fall off by itself but until then she knows what she has to do"

"Thankyou"

"My pleasure. Are you signing her out?"

"Yes. I-I think so"

"Okay come with me. You need to sign here and then she is free to go". I quickly sign the paper and run to Tess' room. Everyone else is already there. Harry is keeping a distance away from Tess. I know he means well but I think he is breaking Tess. I need to talk to him...again

"Hey Haz? Can I talk to you?"

"Um... Sure" he says nervously.

"Don't treat Tess like how you are. Treat her like you best friend. I can see it in her eyes that she is breaking because you are keeping your distance"

"Okay. Thanks Niall" He hugs me and I hug him back. 

We walk back into the room and Tess is given crutches. Her thigh is bandaged up and is healing well. We all fuss over her making sure she's okay with every step she takes. "Guys! I'm fine" Tess wines. 

"No, you're not. You have to rest okat Tess?" says Liam being all parental. 

"Yeah sure dad" Tess says cheekily.

The more time I'm spending with the boys, the more I feel comfortable calling them my brothers. Everyone is fussing over me as we get into the car. "Guys! Stop it!"

"No" says Liam very strictly and seriously. "You are hurt and you need to be taken care of". I give up. The boys won't leave me alone for even a second. 

"Okay. What ever you say dad" I said with a smirk playing on my lips. When we got back to the house Niall carried me inside and up the stairs. This is gonna suck. They aren't even gonna let me breathe without supervision. 

Tonight we are having a girls night as the boys have a show. We are going to watch movies, do eachothers nails and other stuff we like to do for fun. I really want to go to the boys' show tonight but knowing Liam, I'm not gonna be allowed. AH! Perks of having an injury around Liam Payne. 

A few hours later the boys leave for a soundcheck. So it's time to pull out all things girly that we brought along with us. Tomorrow we are planning on going shopping for clothes, makeup, shoes and nail polish. 

We start off with nails. We pump some loud music on and dig out whatever nail polish we can find around the house. Iz comes here and leaves things here and forgets about it. Knowing her she would have a stash of nail polish around the house somewhere. Yeah I know. We live overseas but Iz's parents have holiday houses everywhere and they spread their belongings throughout all the houses. 

"FOUND IT!" Cara exclaims. She brings out a massive woven basket with about 27 different colours. 

"Iz?"

"Shut up Tess... Don't judge me" said Iz. I picked out a really pale teal colour with matching caviar decorations. Cara chose a peach colour with a sparkly gold nail polish. Iz chose a light lavender colour and purple nail sparkles. We did eachothers nails playing around with different art polishes. 

Then we turned on Mean Girls and quoted nearly everything. We put on more comedy movies and then we watched Titanic. Tonight was really fun. I'g so glad I have such good friends. The night ended with all three of us sleeping on eachother.
