Chapter 29 - Tess

As we boarded the plane to go to Sydney, I sighed knowing I would be following the boys around for the next few months. I wasn't looking forward to being on a plane again. After what happened on our way to Australia, I'm kind of paranoid. At least we are taking a public plane now. Private planes are cool but intimidating. 

I sat down in a row of three with Cara and Iz. I was on the end. I like being on the end, well apart from the fact that annoying slow food trolleys go past everynow and then, I can go to the toilet without having to climb over anyone. The pilot informed us about the weather, time, and other boring facts about Sydney. "We should be arriving in Sydney in about an hour and fifteen minutes. Thankyou for flying with QANTAS"

An hour of doing what... drowning myslef in music? annoying the hell out of the flight attendants? annoying the hell out of my friends? eating a cupcake?

10 minutes after we took off, I popped a mint into my mouth to ease my ears. The flight attendants then announced that they will be serving tea, coffee and cakes. COFFEE! As they made snail paced circuits around the plane, they finally got to 'the gang'. Stupid name I know... Cara and Iz were alseep so I ordered for them. "Uh 2 teas and a coffee please"

"Would you like any cakes, cookies?"

"Um we'll have cookies please"

"Certainly. Would you like sugar in your drinks?"

"Yes please. All of them"

She served us our drinks and food. I shook Cara and Iz and amazingly they woke up easily. Maybe it was the smell of tea. "Thanks Tess"

"You know us too well". I smiled at my friends and drank my coffee. The warm drink swirled around my mouth giving my a tingling sensation. I swallowed and closed my eyes. I chucked on my headphones and put on some music. 

The flight went a lot more quickly than I expected. When we were allowed to move, I stood up, stretched and got our things out of the overhead compartments. Hello Sydney. The next few hours were a blur. We got our bags, got them checked, got into a car and checked into a hotel. We had half a floor to ourselves. There were 8 rooms. One for each of us. 

I picked out a room, dumped my things down and walked over to the kitchen. I looked around and something seemed to be wrong. THERE WAS NO FOOD! Sydney was more familiar to the boys than Queensland. They wanted to go out and buy some food. "I'll stay behind and look after everyone" volunteered Liam.

The boys all split up and after 45 minutes, they came back. Tomorrow we are going sightseeing. I've never been to Sydney before. "Hey Tess"

"Hey Niall. Whats up?"

"Um... I was wondering would you like to go on a date with me tomorrow night". There was silence. 

"Sure Niall". I walked over to him and kissed him. 

THE NEXT DAY

I woke up pretty early because I was excited for the day ahead. I put on a pair of shorts, a white shirt and my vans. I sat infront of the TV waiting for everyone else to wake up. 

After breakfast, we started our sightseeing adventure. We drove past a Wildlife park, an Aquarium and Madame Taussads. "Can we go to the Aquarium?" I asked Liam with big eyes. Liam looked past me and his eyes reassured someone. He looked at me "No, sorry Tess, we already have the day planned out". I nodded and looked away. 

We walked into the Wildlife park. I found it strange to have a zoo in the middle of the city. We saw lots of native Australian animals. After 1 hour of boring walking around, I thought that it was over. Liam led us through many doors. Inside there were hundreds of beautiful butterflies flying around. Six landed on me. It was breath taking. There were so many different butterflies with so many different colours. 

Niall came to my side. He took a picture of me. I smiled. It was a magical moment. I kissed me on the cheek. 

After the Wildlife park, we had lunch. I ordered a margherita pizza. I shared with Cara and Iz. Later on we split up into small groups. I went with Cara, Iz and Harry. We wondered around the city. We came across a sign reading 'BRIDGE CLIMB HERE --->"

We all looked at eachother and grinned. This was going to be fun. Harry was the only one that could afford it.  Cara, Iz and I walked away with sad faces. "4 adults please" I heard someone mumble. Harry soon came running to us with wristband for each of us. We looked at him wide eyed. "Thankyou Harry!" We all screamed. I tackled him with a really big hug. 

30 minutes later, we were all suited up and strapped in. We were starting to climb the bridge. I was infront with Harry, Cara and then Iz. We walked up slowly following our guide. "Watch out when we get to the top, The steps are dangerous up there so make sure you step is steady all the time". I nodded even though she couldn't see me. 

It was quite cold up there. I was slowly walking step by step. I heard someone say "we're at the top! We're here!" I noticed I was looking at my feet I looked up and looked around. I was cheering and smiling. I let go of the handle and took a step...BIG MISTAKE! My foot missed the step and I fell backward onto Harry. 

"Tess!" Harry yelled. I heard Iz and Cara gasp behind him. "Tess, are you alright?"

"I-I think so". The guide turned around and told me off for not looking where I was going. 

"You should be more careful. I told you that it can get dangerous at the top" she scolded. I opened my mouth to talk but Harry got there before me. 

"You have no right to yell at her like that!"

"Oh what are you? Her girlfriend?"

"No! I'm not. But I consider her as a sister to me so BACK OFF!" the guide backed down. She led us back without saying another word. That whole time I could feel Harry's stare burn through the back of my head. Step by step we slowly made it down. 

When we stepped back onto steady ground I breathed out in relief. I turned around and gave Harry a hug. "Thanks for sticking up for my"

"No problem Tess. We should probably head back to the hotel now"

"Oh ok". We walked back to our hotel making small talk everynow and again. 

 - Niall - 

I wrote a letter and sealed it in an envelope. I placed it on Tess' bed with a rose and scurried out of the room. I can't wait for tonight. I make my way over to the TV area where Liam, Zayn and Louis are. "Niall? What have you got planned for tonight?"

"Well..." I started. The door handle turned and in walked Harry and the girls. "Tess!" I shrieked. I ran towards my brown haired girlfriend and kissed her on the cheek. I didn't want too much PDA in front of Harry. 

"I am so tired!" said Tess. I smirked.

"Maybe you should lie down for a bit"

"Yeah. Can you make me a cup of tea too Ni?"

"Sure thing". I kissed her forehead and went to the kitchen. When I walked back into the room Tess was reading the letter with a smile. I kocked on the door. I set the tea down and she jumped on me, kissing me. I set her down and continued kissing. "I-Love-You-Niall" she said in between kisses. I pulled away and kissed her again once. "I love you too. Have a nap and get ready. I'll see you in a beutiful outfit I'm guessing?"

"Nope! I'm wearing my pajamas!"

"Tess?"

"I'm joking! Now leave so I can get my beauty sleep"
