Chapter 12 - Niall

As the bright sunlight shone in my eyes... PFT! As I woke up I went crazy! I was so excited for the day ahead. I quickly went to the kitchen and made breakfast for Tees and I. TODAY WAS OUR BITHDAY! I craked some eggs, cooked some bacon and chorizos, made some cofee and I plated up and put everything on a tray. Then I quietly walked into where Tess was sleeping and set the tray down away from the bed.

"WAKE UP TESSSIEEE!" I squealed

"UGHHH! LEAVE ME ALONE NIALL!"

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I made breakfast. Mind if I hop in bed with you while we eat?" She moved over and patted a spot next to her. I brought over the food and she smiled.

"Thanks Niall" she smiled and kissed my cheek. We talked and ate and confessed. "I think everyone is keeping a secret from me Niall. I don't like it". I knew exactly what she was talking about.

"They are keeping a secret from you. And I know what it is. I told them". She looked at me with a shocked face.

"But I thought we weren't keeping any secrets between us" said Tess with a hurt tone.

"No, no. It's not like that. It's a secret for today. I toled everyone what I had planned for today and I told them to keep you from knowing". She looked at me with an unreadable expression.

"Okay Ni. I trust you".

Did I trust him? I did. Didn't I? Well hopefull I'll find out whats going on later today. The day started with Niall and I haveing breakfast in bed and then we decided to go to the water park with the gang. Cara and Izzy gave me presents. Cara gave me the most beautiful ring and earrings. I had been spying on them for a while. The ring was made of pure silver and it had a swirly pattern just before a citrine (yellow topaz) in the middle. The earrings were made of silver too. They had a pink stone in them. When you look at the ston from different angles it has an almost holographic effect. "THANKYOU SO MUCH CARA! How did you know?" I hugged my best friend.

"Now its my turn!" said Izzy. She held out a small flat rectangle. "OPEN IT" I opened it and there lay my favourite Nars eye shadow pallet. "OMG THANKYOU IZ. Thankyou guys sooo much".

A FEW HOURS ATER

- Niall -

"Tess, I have set out your outfit. You have to wear it. Put on Cara and Izzy's presents and meet me outside in my car. Keh?"

"KEH!" I yelled. I saw the outfit Niall set out for me. He acually had a sense of fashion. There was a white crop top with pinapples on it matched with my white pinapple shorts. To finish it off I wore my white Chunk shoes from Windsor Smith. I did a natural smokey eye with bronzes and taupes. I curled my lashes and applied mascara and a nude lip colour. I grabbed my guitar. I slid on my ring and earrings and I walked out of the house to Nialls car. He was leaning on the bonnet whilst scrolling through something on his phone. He looked up at me and smiled. "Happy Birthday Tess!"

"Happy Birthday Niall"

"Close your eyes and don't open your eyes until I say so" After a few minutes we stopped and Niall helped me out of the car. I was a warm night andI felt my shoes hit the hard concrete. "Open your eyes Tess"

- Tess -

"Oh my god!" I gasped. It was a beautiful sight. An empty theme park all to our selves and a massive trampoline with pillows and blakets. Tears started to line my eyes. No. No! Tess. You can't cry I told myself. I turned around to Niall who was looking at me in a way I've never seen before. His usually bright blue eyes had turned an almost ocean deep blue, bringing out silver flecks in his eyes. "Thankyou Niall" I said as I nuzzed my face in his neck. 

"Come on Tess. Aren't you hungry?" He led me towards the Ferris Wheel. I set the guitar down on the trampoline and followed Niall. As we got into the carriage a familiar smell  filled my nose. I looked down and say Napolitana Pasta. "Aww Niall. Did you cook this?" He bushed and nodded. We laughed and ate as we slowly made it to the top. We had a brilliant view. 

We made it back down to the ground and we went on a couple more rides before settling down on the trampoline. The trampoline was lined with fairy lights. I picked up my guitar and looked Niall in the eyes and said "Thankyou for keeping this a secret" and I kissed him on the cheek. "Now it's time for your present. 

I placed my hand on the first chord and started to sing

She opened her mouth and her melodic voice came out. I can't believe how much her voice has matured. She looked beautiful tonight. She closed her eyes as she sang

Circles, we're going in circles

Dizzy's all it makes us

We know where it takes us

We've been before

Closer, maybe looking closer

There's more to discover

Find out what went wrong

Without blaming each other

She opened her eyes and we made eye contact. We both blushed. I had to tell her at some point. But then again it is risky. 

Think that we got more time

When we're falling behind

Gotta make up my mind

Or else we'll play, play, play all the same old games

And we wait, wait, wait for the end to change

And we take, take, take it for granted that we'll be the same

But we're making all the same mistakes

Wake up, we both need to wake up

Maybe if we face up to this

We can make it through this

Closer, maybe we'll be closer

Make this something more, yeah

Think that we got more time

One more falling behind

Gotta make up our minds

She closed her eyes again, focusing on each chord she played and each note that came out angelically. 

Or else we'll play, play, play all the same old games

And we wait, wait, wait for the end to change

And we take, take, take it for granted that we'll be the same

But we're making all the same mistakes

The night ended with Tess lying down on my chest and falling asleep. One thought burdened me. i had to tell her at some point...
