Chapter four

It was now 11:42 pm and the party is still going strong. People dancing in the living room, making out, grinding, pretty much being hormonal teenagers. Zoe was talking to a few of her friends from school, I recognized one of them, but I didn't know the other three so I resisted the urge to go over there. "Hey Tessa." I jumped at the sudden conversation. "Oh hey Colby, what's up?" I tried hiding the blush creeping across my cheeks. "Not much, you know what I realized?" He asked taking a sip of his drink, "what's that?" I asked looking back up at him. "Well I moved here our freshman year, right next door to you and tonight is the first time we ever talked."  "Yeah I realized that too, idk maybe I was just to shy to talk to you" he laughed " I mean who isn't too shy to talk to me? I'm gorgeous!" We burst out laughing as he made a silly face and stuck his hand out to me to grab. I did just that and he started shaking it. " I now declare us friends, which means we have to talk now." I laughed nodding my head at him.

"let's play a drinking game!" Zoe said coming over to me and pulling me to the kitchen away from Colby. "Alright what are we playing?" I asked when we got there. "Well it's like truth or dare, but if you refuse to do the dare or answer a question you have to take a shot." I nodded and she brought her friends from earlier to play the game and a couple guys including Alex came to play. It started off with Zoe and her friends giving little dares then it was Alex's turn and of course he was gonna ask me. "Truth or Dare Tess?" "Dare!" I answered earning a smirk from him and I rolled my eyes, I knew exactly what kinda think Alex would as if I said truth. Colby caught my eye, he was standing in the corner of the kitchen talking to Sam and some other guys. I looked back at Alex and he had an evil grin "I dare you to go up and hug Colby, no introduction.. Just hug him, and lay your head on his chest." My face went red as I turned around and walked to him and pulled him into a hug. He didn't hesitate, he hugged back instantly. "What was that for?" He asked smiling down at me. "Well we are friends now. I just wanted to try it out." I smiled walking back to the table. "Oh my gosh Tessa!!" I looked at Zoe who was smiling at me. "Alright Zoella, truth or dare?" I asked smiling at her. "Oh dearest friend of mine, of course Dare" I laughed at her looking around trying to think of something for her to do. "I dare you to..." I paused when my eyes met Sam's and suddenly had an idea. "I dare you to go ask Sam to dance with you." Her face went red as she walked over to him. I could tell she was nervous but I seen them leave the kitchen so I guess he accepted. I told the others I was done with the game, I had 3 shots due to some questions I didn't wanna answer so I decided I should stop before I get drunk. I checked my phone and it was 1am and I had some missed calls from my mom and a text saying I needed to be home by 12. I told Zoe and she said she would get a ride home with someone else so I went to get my stuff out of the kitchen.

"Are you leaving?" Colby asked throwing his cup away. "Yeah my mom wants me home, I'm already an hour late." I laughed grabbing my keys "mind if I catch a ride? Sam drove me over here and I think he's staying the night here." He asked grabbing his jacked as I nodded to him. "Do you mind driving? I think I had a little to much to drink when we played that game earlier." I asked and he grabbed the Keys. We finally got to the car and I got in the passenger side and Colby got in the drivers seat. "DEAR MOTHER OF JUSTIN BIEBER, YOU ARE SO SHORT!!" He said moving my seat back. I couldn't help but laugh. "I am 5'2' I'm not that short." I tried to argue but that just made him laugh more. The ride home was filled with us singing to the random songs on the radio, my favorite song at the time 'Ride' by Twenty One Pilots. And me and Colby sang to it as we pulled into my driveway and got out. "Hey I had fun tonight." Colby said handing me my keys. "Me too" I smiled and noticed his car wasn't home next door. "Seeing that your car isn't next door I bet you left it at Sam's house" he nodded for me to continue "if you want I can give you my number and tomorrow when you get ready I can drive you to get it. He agreed and gave me his phone to put my number in. He told me he would text me later so I would have his number. We said our goodbyes and I walked into the house.

"Hey sweetie did you have fun?" My mom asked walking past me. " did you drive home? I smell a lot of alcohol on you." I just giggled "No I let Colby drive my car and I rode." "Alright, by the way next time please make sure to be home on time, I worry about you baby." I nodded and she smiled at me and hugged me goodnight before going up stairs. My mom didn't get mad when I drank, she said if I'm gonna do it just be safe and don't drive drunk. So my parents let me go to parties and stay over people's houses or anything that didn't involve drugs, mainly because they said they could trust me. But I say it's because I'm not my sister and they really stopped caring what I did along time ago. Don't get me wrong they love me a lot and care about my safety, and I for one am glad I get to do what I want.

I decided to take a shower, when I got done I went back to my room and grabbed some clothes and changed into my black yoga shorts and one of Alex's shirts from when he stays the night. I looked at my phone seeing a text from an unknown number.

(Text convo)
Unknown: Hey, it's Colby
Me: hey
Colby: what's up?
Me: nm just laying here wbu?
Colby: same tbh, hey thanks for the ride home.
Me: no problem, thank you for driving lol
Colby: no problem, I'm sure your wanting to go to sleep so I'll text you tomorrow when I get ready to get my car
Colby: Goodnight Tessa, sweet dreams
Me: Goodnight, and sweet dreams to you to Colby

I put my phone down and screamed with excitement into my pillow, yes I know we only just became friends tonight, but I'm excited that he even talked to me. I mean we talked a lot in the car when we weren't singing but it still hasn't sank in that I finally talked to him.

After being all girly about the situation, which took about 20 minutes of me giggling and reading the last text 50 times, I finally settled down and fell asleep.
