Chapter nine

As I stepped out of the house Colby took my hand and spun me around once and looked me up and down. "Wow Tessa, you look beautiful." As soon as he said it I could tell I was blushing. It's a good thing I had makeup on or I'm sure I would look like a strawberry. "Thank you Colby, you look really handsome tonight." I said as he walked me to his car. He has a red 2013 Mustang. He opened the door for me and then went around and got in the drivers side. Starting the car and backing out. It was silent for a few minutes before he turned the radio almost all the way down.

"So are you going to the Cookout at Alex's tomorrow?" he asked glancing at me for a split second be for looking back at the road. "Yeah, I'm can't wait. His Dad is a great grill cook." I said and Colby was suddenly interested. "I think I'm most excited about the food now." He said and I laughed. After a couple more minutes of us talking about the Cookout we pulled up to this nice looking building which I'm guessing is the restaurant. It had a sign on the front that said 'Paradise'. The building was white stone, it had beautiful painted windows, and the doors looked like castle doors. He got out and opened my door. "Thank you." I said blushing like crazy. He opened the door and let me walk ahead of him. When we got in a waiter had us follow him to a table, as we were walking Colby put his arm around my waist and when I looked up him he smiled at me.
We got to the table and he pulled the chair out and when I sat he pushed me gently back up to the table. I thanked him again when he sat down. We looked at the menus that the waiter gave us. I decided on chicken and shrimp with a side of rice, Colby got steak and shrimp with rice. He told the waiter and we talked while waiting for our food. "Does Alex like Adrian?" I looked over at him and smiled. "Yeah, I told him he should ask her out. I mean she told me at the mall that she liked him." I told him. "I hope he does ask her, I think it would make him happy." He said as the waiter came back with our food. We thanked them and began to eat. I looked around the place while I was eating. The floor that had the tables on it had carpet, and there was a part in the back that had people dancing and a DJ booth. I looked back at Colby and smiled. He was wearing a pair of black 'skinny' jeans, a white v-neck t-shirt, black beanie, and white Vans. He looked at me with nervous smile a I put my hand over his. "This place is really nice, I'm having a great time." I said and he instantly relaxed. "Thank goodness, I was scared you wouldn't like it. I shook my head to ease his mind. We made small talk the rest of the time we ate. After we were both done he stood up and held his hand out.

"Would you like to go dance?" I nodded taking his hand as we walked to the dance floor. When we got there the song 'Don't let me go' by Harry Styles came on. I really love that song. We danced for about 4 songs and when we were done it was 9:46. We decided that it was a good time to leave. After he paid we went out to his car and he opened the door for me again and when he got in the car we took off back to my house. I told him he could park at his house and he could walk me across the street to my house. He agreed and them pulled up to his house and shut the car off.

He got out and came around to open the door. And we walked across the street. Colby once again had his hand on my lower back and his hand rested on the side of my waist. When we got to my front door he turned to my front and grabbed my hands in his. "I had a lot of fun tonight Tessa." Colby said I looked up into his blue eyes. Somehow they still managed to be sparking brightly at night. His eyes are gorgeous, and so is the rest of him. "I did too. I'm so glad you asked me." I said blushing. Everything got quiet and I looked at him. He looked from my eyes to my lips a couple times and started to lean in. He pulled me closer taking his thumb under my chin and brought his lips to mine. I didn't hesitate to kiss him back. It only lasted about 15 seconds, but it was the best 15 seconds of my life. We pulled back and he bit his lip and smiled. He looked really cute when he did that. I tried to hide the blush that crept it's way across my cheeks, I knew but the smile on Colby's face he knew I found that action attractive, I smiled back at him and hugged him and he hugged back. I put my chin on his chest so I was looking up at him. "Hey do you wanna ride with me tomorrow to Alex's?" Colby asked while playing with one of my curls. "Yeah that sounds great to me." He smiled "Alright it starts at noon tomorrow so I'll be here at 11:30 okay?" I nodded in agreement." Goodnight Tessa sweet dreams" Colby said and leaned in for another quick kiss. "Goodnight Colby sweet dreams." I said before he let me go and I walked back in the house.

I ran up stairs and into my room, I took a shower and changed and got in bed. I can't believe he kissed me. I put my hand in my lips, it was like I could still feel the tingling that I felt when he kissed me. I soon fell asleep and kept dreaming about the kiss. I really am having sweet dreams tonight, and the best part is when I wake up I won't be mad because he actually kissed me in real life.
