Chapter twenty four

Colby's POV
"Good morning Colby." My mom said when I walked downstairs. "Morning mom. Happy Halloween." "Happy Halloween." She said before leaving for work. It was a Saturday but she still had work. I stayed at my house last night because Tessa stayed the night at Beth's house after the funeral yesterday. I'm glad that they are friends again but I'm really curious on why they had that fight last year anyways.
I was pulled from my thoughts when my phone vibrated indicating a text.

(Text convo)
Sam: hey come over and hangout.
Me: be there soon.

I put my phone in my pocket and grabbed a granola bar and left for Sam's house. The drive was short and when I got there Sam was sitting outside and Zoe was with him. I got out and locked my car. "Hey where's Tessa?" Zoe asked getting out of the chair and sitting on Sam's lap allowing me to have the other chair. "She is still at Beth's. She's probably gonna leave soon so we can set up for tonight. She's saying goodbye to Beth and her family. They are moving to Arizona for the rest of the school year to try and move past what happened with Lilly." They both nodded and I decided to ask the question that's been pressed in my mind for awhile. "Zoe do you know why Tessa and Beth fought last year?" I asked and she looked up from her phone, now interested in the conversation. "Well when Tessa was dating Chance Beth tried to warn Tessa about what kinda guy he was. He had dated her cousin and kinda done the same thing to her. Tessa didn't want to believe her and told her she was just jealous and a bunch of stuff like that. Well a week or so later the whole thing happened and when Tessa went to Beth, Beth kinda said she deserved it for not listening and they both started calling names and then they fought. Tessa got kicked off cheer and they didn't talk anymore until Beth started picking on me." She paused as if remembering all the details. "I know neither one meant to hurt each other but the did. I guess they realized after what happened to Lilly and how worried Tessa was about Beth that they didn't mean what they said." I nodded when she finished. It was silent for a few minutes until my phone ringing loudly caused me to jump and Sam and Zoe laughed at me. I flipped them off then gave them a kicking smile and answered my phone. The caller id said it was Tessa.
"Hey baby girl." I said and Zoe awed while Sam pretended to gag causing Zoe to smack his chest. "Hey babe where are you? I just got home and seen your car wasn't at your house." "I'm at Sam's, I'm probably about to come back and help you set up." I heard the sound of her hair hitting the speaker indicating she switched her phone to her other ear. "Alright see if Sam and Zoe want to help." I guess they heard her through the phone because they nodded before I could ask. "Yeah they said they will help. I'll be there as soon as I can baby." She said her goodbye and I said mine then I put my phone in my pocket. And looked back at Sam and Zoe who were looking at me and smiling. I couldn't help but smile back at them. "Come on losers, we need to go help Tessa." I said and made my way to my car and leaving. Zoe rode with Sam, I'm guessing he picked her up from her house cause her car wasn't there.
It didn't take long to get to Tessa's house. I pulled in and shut my car off. "Hey Colby, can you come help me real fast?" I looked over and seen Tessa's mom holding some heavy bags trying to open the front door. I ran over and grabbed the bags and she smiled. "Such a gentleman thank you." She said as I followed her to the kitchen. "You're welcome, how's your day been?" I asked while helping her put the food away where it belongs. "It's been good, oh that bag is for that little party y'all are having tonight." I looked in and seen a few things of alcohol. "And no I didn't buy it or supply it. Understood?" She said winking and I let out a small laugh and nodded. "Yes ma'am." She smiled and waved me off and I went out the back door and over to the guest house. Well technically it's Tessa's house I guess. I seen Sam and Zoe had already went in and I walked in putting the bags in the kitchen. "What's that?" I jumped and turned around seeing Tessa looking at the bag. "Your mom got it for the party. But she said she isn't the supplier 'wink wink'. " I said and she laughed digging through the bag. "Gotta love my mom." I nodded and kissed her cheek before walking over to Sam and Zoe who were putting up a few decorations. I was about to ask if they needed help when I got a call from Alex. "Hey what's up man?" I asked answering the phone. "Not much, do you mind coming to get me and bringing me over Tessa's? My mom had to borrow my car cause hers is messing up." I grabbed my keys and told him I would be there soon. "Where are you going?" Tessa said as she began making skittle bombs. "Alex needs a ride over here an-" I was cut off by a knock on the door. I walked over and opened the door and seen a girl and Tessa stepped around me and hugged her. "I'm so glad you could make it Chelsea." I suddenly remembered them coming back from the store the other day saying they met a new girl who worked there. I seen Zoe go and hug her and they went into the kitchen. I walked in and Tessa immediately introduced me. "Oh Chelsea this is my boyfriend Colby." I held my hand out and shook hers. "It's nice to meet you Chelsea." I said letting go and putting my arm around Tessa's waist. "Nice to meet you too." She replied before Zoe drug her off to meet Sam. "Alright baby girl I'll be right ba-" I was cut off by her lips on mine. When she pulled away she had a smirk on her face as she kissed up my neck. I held back a moan threatening to come out and she got to my ear. "You know I don't know what it is about the nicknames you give me but they really get me going." Tessa whispered making sure no one hears her and she nipped my neck causing me to suck in a breath as she pulled away. "Be safe baby." She said smiling innocently as she walked over to her fridge. I smiled knowing I would have time to get her back later, but for now I have to go get Alex.

A/N: Guyssss I almost forgot about the Halloween party. I feel like these two chapters are crap but I had to fill in hopefully I can make the next one better.
