As we walk out of the restaurant, my phone rings.
"Hang on, Calum. It's my mom." I say as I see the caller ID.
"Hey mom, what's up?"
"Honey, Luke's parents decided to have a funeral and its this Saturday. I want to know if you want to go," She says sympathetically.
"Um. I don't know yet. I'll have to see if Katie wants to go, if we have a place to stay till then, airplane ticket prices-" My mother cuts me off.
"Oh no dear, I'll pay for the two of you to fly back. Katie told me you met a friend, if you want she can come too," Wow awkward, mom thought when Katie said I made a friend, she meant a girl.
"Actually, its a guy." I stated.
"What? Who's a guy?" She asked, cluelessly.
"The friend I made. Remember the band i obsess over, 5 Seconds Of Summer? Well, he's the one that plays bass, Calum." Calum smirked at me. Oops, he heard that.
She pauses, "Is it a friend or a boyfriend? If its a boyfriend I have to meet him, and soon."
I sigh, of course. Yes, she's that kind of mom.
"Just a friend," I glance at Calum and he shifted his eyes to stare at the concrete slabs, "For now." I finish.
I see him genuinely smile.
"Good, then I can't wait to meet him. I'm glad you're doing well, I can't wait to see you again. By the way, I'm very proud of you. You've been through a lot, so just have some fun while you're there! Live a little, it wouldn't hurt to let loose a bit!" She chuckled.
I pondered that. She's not wrong, I deserve to take a break from emotional stress and just have fun.
And so thats what I did.

I walk into the store, dragging Katie behind me.
"Thats what you wanted to tell me? You want a tattoo?! Are you insane, your mother will kill you!" She exclaimed.
"I know, I know. Just hear me out." I try to reason.
"Fine, but don't think for a second that if you have a dumb reason, I won't try to stop you. You know where your parents stand with tattoos, and I'm not about to get a lecture about steering your friend clear of stupid decisions. I already got an earful of it when you broke your nose from running into a brick wall that you were sure would lead you to the wizard world." She rambled.
"Well, the thing I want is a little rose on the back of my neck. They'll never even have to know, I could just cover it!" (oh my god I didn't mean for this to sound exactly like Try Hard, I apologize)
"We don't even have enough money though," She pointed out.
"Thats why I'm going to save up, I just wanted to see how much it would be! This'll be five minutes, tops." I tell her and go to the desk at the front.
"Hey, I'm thinking of getting a tattoo..." I trail off, as I saw to the guy.
"Alright, tell me what you want,"
