Chapter 15

We're polishing our song for tomorrow night's affair in the McDonough's Recording Studio.

My mouth instantly fell once I saw it, I have never been into one all my life! This is my first time!

The place is huge and filled with shiny stuff. It's wallpaper is covered with plain shiny black paint. At the left side of the wall is packed with demos, and platinum and gold recordings, that are hanging on their walls by various artists that have recorded in their studio. There's also a long console with a lot of confusing buttons where you can mix songs, add beats, and edit the tune of the voice to make it clearer.

The thick glass window two feet from us has microphones inside with filters, and headphones readily arranged for recording. There's also an area with neatly arranged musical instruments. To my right are shelves of different artists' albums, and it is my favorite corner since it has a vending machine.

Time flies without you expecting it. I'm still scared of performing tomorrow. Not because a lot of people are gonna be there, but the fact that Connor and I are going to do the song together.

Spending time with this monster wasn't something that I expected. Because first of all, we were never in speaking terms, second, we were never this close in one area before. It turns out, he's actually pretty cool to hang out with. I get to see a side of him that I didn't really know that existed due to his satanic characteristic.

So far, I realized how serious he is when it comes to rehearsals, he's very talented, he easily comes up with cool ideas with the song, he's very fun when it comes to rehearsal breaks, and his lame jokes actually made me laugh. Frankly, he's like a girl on period with his crazy mood swings. Above all that, I can now slowly see who he really is. But I know there's still something more behind that mask he's hiding.

After we have finished the song, we're both listening to the slow beat that he rearrange for the official song. It is slow at first, a nice mellow tune, where you can hear a piano playing, when it gets to the refrain, Connor added some cool beats to add drama to the song.

"What do you think?" He asked after letting me listen to his masterpiece which I helped.

I smiled, "I'm impressed, you did a pretty good job about it."

I saw him flash his signature smirk, "Thanks. And your piano playing sounds sweet, so girly and romantic at the same time."

"You're always saying that I made the song girly."

"But that's what makes it disgustingly romantic."

I laughed, "You're so bitter."

"So are you." He stuck his tongue out like a kid and handed me the lyrics to the song. "Okay, here..."

He grabbed my hand, making my cheeks heat up, and he led me inside the recording studio. My eyes widened as I snap my head to his direction, "Now?"

"Yeah now." He chortled. He handed me the headphone and he placed a microphone in front of me.

I can't believe it.

We're actually doing it.

We're about to record our song in their studio.

I'm too stunned to move, and I feel like something is choking me, preventing me to speak. Connor shakes my shoulders to snap me out of my frustration.

"You'll do great. Trust me."

I nodded.

It wasn't long, the music starts playing.

Connor and I are going to record our voices.

I can do this.

He signaled me that it's almost time to sing.

I inhaled deeply and started...

Rovie: "When the sun comes up you know that I'll be leaving
But tonight, let's spend it staring at the moon..."

We stared at each other as I sang, I tried to read his deep ocean blue eyes, the way he stares at me sends chills running to my spine.

Even the way his husky singing voice enters my ears making my heart beat hop like a rabbit.

Connor: "Tryna pack away these seconds I keep stealing
I'm not done holding you
I'm not done loving you, girl, oh..."

"Woman, where the fuck are you?!" Kiamy exclaimed from the dressing room.

My friends and I decided (mostly them) to go shopping for tonight's affair. A rush shopping, because they want to drag me with them.

After hearing Kiamy's voice, I rolled my eyes, I made my way to where she is and handed her some more dresses, "Chill out, I'm here."

After handling her the dresses I picked out, I decided to sit down on that nice comfy seat.

She scoffed, "And what do you think you're doing?"

"Sitting down?" I replied skeptically.

"You're going to perform tonight so you need to shop, for fucks sake." Jessa suddenly pops out from the other dressing room next to Kiamy's.

"No." I saw them raise an eyebrow, "I mean, it's just a song."

"And there's a dance. Enjoy for once!" Jessa said, closing the curtains.

I pulled out my phone and play some games while responding, "I know both of you are so hype because you two have dates."

"Who said you don't have one?" Kiamy replied.

"Me! Nobody asked me!"

"Connor is your date!"

"No he's not, he didn't ask me!" I muttered.

Jessa snuck her head out, "So you want him to ask you first?"

"No! I just- No! I don't like dance parties."

"You've never been in one." My blond friend commented.

"Yeah, you always bail."

I groaned, "I still don't get how you two can't understand I don't enjoy going to things like these."

"We're seniors and you're just not doing a good job at socializing out of your comfort zone."

"Still, I'm not going. I'll probably be in and out." I told them. I saw them get out of the dressing room, looking at me with heir evil faces. "What? What are you two thinking?"

"Oh, nothing. It's nothing since you're not coming. It'll be just me and Jessa so."

"Yeah, don't worry about it."

So I decided not to.

That was my mistake, for not worrying about their evil eviiiiil faces.
