Chapter 31

Jessa's POV

"What's going on?"

Before Cameron could answer me, he looked at my friends, "Um, hey guys? Can I borrow Jessa for an hour?"

"Uh sure. Just don't take too long, Jess. We have plans this afternoon." Kiamy reminded.

I nodded and answered, "Okay."

We watched my friends walk away and I turn my attention back to Cameron, "So, what is it that you wanted to tell me?"

"Let's go the parking lot."

We silently walked to the parking lot and reach to Rovie's car. I frown looking at him. But he didn't exactly notice my annoyance. "Jess. I can't stand the fact that you're being like this." Cameron started.

"Like what, exactly?"

"Being emotionless."

Blood started to rise, "I am not emotionless! Are we going to discuss about my hatred towards Rovie? God what is up with the world and siding with her?!"

"This is nothing about her!" He exclaimed. I rose my eyebrows, looking at him dully. "Okay kinda is." I rolled my eyes at him. "But this is more about you and Riley." He added.

"What do you mean?" I groaned.

"If I tell you now, would you also not tell Rovie what you will know? At the right time we will, but not now." My eyebrows meet in confusion, "This mess between you and Riley, has a root cause. And it is definitely not Rovie. Because first of all, it would be so puerile of Rovie to sabotage your relationship. If she wants Riley all to herself, she wouldn't be pushing you to pursue him, right? And she wouldn't be playing bridge of love for you two, right?"

My head shook. Because as much as I hate to admit it, he is definitely right. He lifts my chin up, and our eyes met. He looks at me with a softened expression, "Second, I know you're hurt. I know you believed in whatever that person told you because somehow that person is good at lying. But at least know other people's side before you become narrow minded, Jess."

Oh my god, I completely forgot how handsome he is this close. I snapped out from my daydream mode, "Damn it, Cameron. Just skip the lecture and aim directly straight to your point." I start to feel angry at this.

"We're getting to that." I shot him a dirty look. He held his hands up, "Okay, okay fine. If it is still not obvious, it's Connor."

"What?" I asked in refute.

"Connor is behind all this dirty mess, while he acts all clean."

Shaking my head, "N-No..."

All of it... was a lie? He was just slowly ruining our friendship so I could side with him? He also ruined my relationship with his brother? His very own brother? Noo. No.

"Yes. Don't you see, Jess? He pissed Riley off, making him turn into a beast, he didn't fight back Riley so it would look like he was attacked, when after all he was the one who attacked Riley emotionally."

I stayed silent, and let Cameron speak his mind. "Remember when he was a jerk to Rovie? It was because he couldn't get over his ex girlfriend who happens to have similar qualities as Rovie. Blonde, small, baby blue eyes, glasses... but what hurts in his past was, his ex is married and already has a baby."

"How did you..."

"Know? He told me himself."

"What..." I asked in a faint voice.
