Chapter 16

Tonight's the night.

And I realized a little too late that I have nothing to wear.

I called my friends for my wardrobe dilemma. They scolded me first, and told me to calm down because they're on their way. Thank God.

It wasn't long, Jessa arrived. She looked hella stunning with her skin tight black dress that hugs her curves perfectly. She had her hair curled at the tips, and I bet Riley's drool wouldn't stop once he looks at her.

She immediately pulled me to my room to get ready, after doing the makeup, Jessa is doing my hair at the moment, I asked her to do her magic, but not the kind that would look like a total idiot. She made loose curls at the tip of my hair. She smiled when she's satisfied with her work.

My raven haired friend started to pack her things. I realized that I'm not yet dressed. "Umm? Where's my dress?"

"Blondie's coming. Don't worry." She winked at me, and added a teasing smile. I hope they don't plan on dressing me up like a chicken.

I looked at her suspiciously. "What? Don't worry about your dress, I picked it up for you."

I nodded and decided to trust her, and then walked her to the door.

I checked my watch to see it's almost 7:30PM. Where the hell is Kiamy? She should be here by now. I decided to text her but she didn't reply. Smh.

After ten minutes of waiting, the doorbell finally rang.

"Finally! Where the hell have you-" I opened the door, my speech was cut short because my eyes couldn't believe on what I see.

The person standing before me... I must be dreaming...

A waving hand snapped me out, "What?"

"You..." I don't even know how to finish my sentence.

"Didn't expect me to be here?" A smirk formed on his face.

"I-I didn't expect anything from you." I retorted.

"You should be happy."

"Why...?" I asked slowly, more suspicious thoughts flooded in my mind.

He cleared his throat, "Roviejane Abiera, will you be my date for the ball?"

Did he just ask me to be his date?

By just looking at his face, I have this thought in mind that he's doing a prank or something.

But my heart wouldn't stop leaping once he said those words.

Snap out of it! Shaking my head, I looked at him dully, "Okay, how much?"

He knits his eyebrows, "What?"

"How much did my friends give you, so you can ask me out?"

He scoffed at my accusation, "Excuse me, they didn't bribe me. Actually, I asked them to set me up with you."

I looked at him for a few seconds, and inquired, "Why, Connor?"

He took my hand and held it firmly, "I just want to go to the ball with you. So... please say yes. I don't want to be rejected by a nerd."

I rolled my eyes and thought about it. Connor asking me out is like a nightmare dressed like a daydream. And I have never been asked out before.

I hate him.

But I want to have as much fun as my friends are. I mean, we are seniors. And this could be my last time to have fun. Hm, I hope that's a good enough reason for me to go with him.
