Chapter 21
Waiting for our teacher to arrive, my friends and I sat together, telling each others stories about what happend during the days I missed out while I was in drama mode.
My life couldn't have been better.
Everything went pretty well with me and Connor. My friends and I reunited. Everything went well after my sincere apologies, to which Connor helped.
Problem solved.
That blond guy sure knows how to make a girl's heart melt. He has been very sweet and caring. But of course his egotistic ways can never change.
I have never been this happy and this excited to go to school each day. It's all because of that one person.
From the roars of laughter, out the blue Jessa tugged my sleeve, "So, Rovie," she started with a teasing look. I rose an eyebrow, "How are you and Connor?"
"We're okay, I guess." I shrugged.
"Are you two dating now?" Kiamy inquired with a teasing smile.
"Um, actually-"
Jessa cuts me off, "Kiam, isn't it obvious? Of course they are! Look at that fool smile she wears every day, especially when she sees Connor."
"Ooo." Kiamy teased once more.
I rolled my eyes at my friends, "Wow guys. You're too advanced."
"It'll happen eventually. Trust me."
I was about to say something until we hear slams and shouts from a familiar voice.
"How dare you!"
"Ask him!"
"Both of you are such assholes!"
"What was that?" Kiamy knitted her eyebrows.
The three of us went out to witness a fight. Students were gathering in a semi-circle. We pushed through the crowd to see who's fighting.
That's when my heart couldn't stop pounding. Seeing two of my friends on each other's necks.
Cameron is pinned against the lockers. His mouth is dripping with blood and his face has bruises, meanwhile Riley is scratch free.
Riley aimed one more punch at Cameron, to which he groans in agony.
"Riley! Stop!" I cried.
But my best friend is losing it. He didn't listen to me. He's so pissed. And I have never seen him this angry in our two years of friendship.
"You better take back what you said or I swear to god I'll break that nose of yours!" Riley hissed.
"Why would I take back the truth, man? Punch me or whatever, I still won't fight. You deserve to know the truth. I care for her as much as you do and you know that."
I gripped on Jessa's arm when Riley was about to aim another punch at him, "Riley, stop!" Jessa voiced out.
Riley looked at everyone angrily, until his eyes softened when they caught Jessa's teary ones.
My raven haired friend lets go of him and sighs. He walks towards me and grabs both of my arms, he looks at me seriously, that look... that scary look he wears, worse than Connor's angry self... "Stay away from him Rovie. I mean it!" He warned me, and then lets go of me harshly. Like my arms are about to fall from its sockets.
Rubbing my shoulder I asked, "Stay away from who?" When Riley didn't answer, I turned to my hurt friend, "Cameron, from who? You?"
"Ask your best friend, Rovie."
I helped him up, but he jerked his arm from me.
"But Cam-"
"I wish we never met." He said bluntly.
My heart honestly cracked from those words that came out from his mouth. Tears started to fall. God I have been such an emotional wreck this week. I know I have been annoying to Cameron, but I... I don't know what to do.
Is that what Riley wants? Me, away from Cameron? But why? What did he do? What did he do to deserve Riley's harsh punches? I know Riley is insecure when it comes to him because he likes Jessa as well. But... I simply don't understand.
"Rovie, come on." Kiamy urges.
"But Cameron..."
Before we could get in our room, Jessa interrogated Riley.
"Riley, what the hell was that?" Riley didn't budge. "Hey, answer me!"
"Nothing."
"It can't be nothing." Jessa insisted. You know what he did? He just looked at her in a bored manner. Jessa scoffed disbelievingly, "Who are you?"
Right on cue, our principal cleared his throat, "McDonough, to my office."
What's wrong with Riley? There are so many questions running in my mind that I don't even know where to begin.
Welp, new problem begins.
