I remember memorizing books so I could look like I was reading them to you.

I remember sitting with you talking, reading, and telling stories.

I remember Vernor's and celery with peanut butter we always shared.

I remember you at your last, but I didn't get to know you.

You met me at my beginning, but you never got to know me.

I don't remember when I lost you.

I don't remember my last little while with you.

I don't remember saying goodbye.

All I know are these memories.

I know the pain of missing you.

You were so beautiful in your youth, mid, and last.
