The Girl Who Was.

She lies in the darkness of her own room.

Tightly held together in the corner of her couch.

Her tear stained pillow slips to the floor but goes unnoticed by her now dried eyes.

Holding her bear to her chest remembering those good days as a child,

but even then she was looked upon as a horribly ugly mistake.

She feels so detached from her childhood it's as if the memories she possesses are those of someone else's entirely.

Blood sheds out of her wrists soaking into the cushions.

Behind her locked door blaring music covers her cries of pain and screams for help.

On her knees, hands held out in front of her,

She begs for Gods help, for Gods grace. She begs to be fixed, saved, taken.

She just wants guidance on this lonely road.

As she calls out she knows what to expect,

Nothing! Like always.

Does anybody know her pain, does anybody care, will anyone help her?

No...

She slowly lifts herself to her feet.

With the little bit of strength, she has left she walks over to that small blade.

As she reaches out to it she falls back to the floor.

Her minds made up, it's all over now.

Her family barely knew her.Her friends just didn't care. And, he...the love of her life, the one she thought would always be there. He is already gone.

She'll just be the girl who was, but is no more.

She whispers goodbye to her small little bear, he was all she had left.

She pulls him closer;

"I've always loved you and I'm so sorry to leave you here like this but, please hold me back, comfort me while I drift away to another world the way you used to comfort me to sleep."

And with that she let her eyes slide shut and she let herself fall into a dream she would never again wake up from.

With the strive for a real life, that would never come true.

Fading into that thick suffocating darkness, never to return.

She really is the girl who was, but is no more.
