A middle-aged husband and wife came rushing through the hospital corridors not long after the twins settled down. Dianne could tell that they came from a rich family from the way they dressed and spoke so eloquently with the doctors.

The wife turned to them, looking relieved. "Thank you-thank you so much."

"It's nothing, Ma'am. She looked really sick when I found her by the river," Devon spoke, standing up. He suddenly felt so involved in such a huge case that calling Lucio to tell him he found Dianne did not even cross his mind. He just felt so reunited with her that he wanted some mere minutes to keep her to himself. "Is she okay now?"

"The river..." the woman turned to her husband, who cleared his throat and said, "Our daughter suffered a temporary memory loss from an accident that happened in that exact river. It has been almost two months now-but I guess being at that river triggers her brain to restore those memories. It was traumatizing, which was why her brain might stress under the shock and cause her to faint. Everything will be fine soon."

"We're just really grateful that you helped a stranger," the woman continued with a smile, reaching for Devon's hand.

Dianne smiled bitterly, knowing that she was totally invisible in that happy picture.

She wondered who would come running like crazy if she was in Ella's shoes.

She did not even know whether Nate still cared to look for her now.
