"Devon-Devon..." Dianne caught her breath as the ambulance sped swiftly through the street. She kept her voice down, knowing that she was just lucky to be there with Devon who pleaded the medical team to take her with him without explaining why. Devon squeezed Dianne's hand as she rested her head on his shoulder.

"You know her?" Dianne mouthed, pointing at the unconscious girl. Even in that condition, she looked beautiful. Chocolate waves draped messily down her shoulders, partly covering her face. Devon shook his head. "I found her standing by the river-she looked like she was about to pass out, and-"

"Everything's normal. I'm guessing she's stressed," a junior paramedics said. "Are you sure she was alone? Nobody terrorized her, or tried to rob or harass her-"

"Everything is perfectly fine, Miss. I happen to be a passer-by too," Devon replied nervously. "Could she be previously sick?"

"Now that, we're not so sure," another paramedics replied with a shrug. "She seemed to have some wounds on her arms and head, though. I can tell they have been there for quite a while, and are now recovering."

"God, I hope she's okay," Dianne sank to her seat. As they arrived at the hospital, she stayed in the ambulance a little bit longer to kiss Devon and whispered, "I don't know how this happened. Devon-I'm so, so-"

"I know," Devon still looked startled after everything that happened. "I know. Come on, we gotta help that girl."
