Gray Fullbuster X Astraphobic!Reader
Okay....How did I get into this compromising position? How did I end up in Gray's arms in my room?!
Okay, calm down! Let's try and remember what happened yesterday.
I am new to the Fairy Tail guild and yesterday we were sent by Master Makarov on a mission. He would not let me go alone since he was worried that I would not be able handle it alone. He sent me with two other members. In my opinion he picked the worst options possible.....Gray and Juvia.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Gray, I might even have some feelings for him, but he seems to act very coldly towards me and it is uncomfortable for me to be in his presence for too long because of this. As for Juvia, she sees reasons for terrifying bursts of jealousy in every single move I make. For instance, Gray got thirsty and asked me for some water. I gave him my water bottle. At first she started glaring at me and then started mumbling something about indirect kisses. THEN she drifted off into dream land for a while because she had an evident blush and a nosebleed. Finally, she created a strong stream of water from her body and directed it at Gray screaming something like 'Gray-sama, with me you will never be thirsty!'.
We stopped at a hotel along the way because we still had a long way to go, and then....
****Flashback****
"(Name), Juvia, we need to stop here for the night. See you two in the morning."
"Okay, good night!"
"Gray-sama, I will miss you so much. I hope to see you soon!"
"You will see him tomorrow, Juvia...."
"IT'S TOO LONG!"
Great! Now she is crying. Why am I always stuck with the crazies....Oh well, they make life more interesting.
Oh! I didn't notice it started raining. It's coming down real hard. I hope it lightens up by tomo-
"-GRAY-SAMA!"
"ARE YOU STILL CRYING?! JUVIA, YOU ARE FLOODING THE HALLWAY!!! STOP CRYING!"
*Time skip to after they cleaned the floors from Juvia's tears*
Wow, it's pouring cats and dogs outside, I hope it doesn't turn into a thunderstorm.
Great, my hands are starting to shake. I need to get to my room fast!
You quickly run to your room and close the door. You can hear the faint sound of rain outside your window.
Suddenly, a flash of lightning rips through the sky and illuminates your dark room, followed by the deafening sound of thunder. Tears start to spill out of your closed lids and you keep on trembling. Before you can once again be frightened, you quickly climb into the empty closet and wrap you arms tightly around yourself, trying to somehow comfort yourself. Due to the panic attack you are experiencing, it becomes very hard to breath. You feel trapped and the fear is quickly overcoming you completely. You can't think strait. All that can be heard from your room are loud whimpers between the loud rumbling of thunder.
Unexpectedly, you hear the door to your room being opened and someone come in.
"(Name)?"
You recognize the voice as Gray and you desperately want to run out of your hiding spot and cling to him for comfort, but your fear keeps you rooted to your spot. With the thunder roaring outside your window, you let out another whimper. You hear footsteps approaching the closet you are sitting in and he carefully opens the closet door. He silently takes your hands and lifts you up. You can't stand on your wobbly legs, so he steadies you by hugging you carefully. You immediately cling to him for dear life, trying to block out all of the other terrifying sounds surrounding you. His grip on your waist tightens and he lowers his head, so that you can feel his breath on your ear. He starts to whisper into your ear, blocking out the other sounds and soothingly drags his fingers over the small of your back. His actions calm you down and before you know it, the two of you are asleep on your bed, covered by a warm blanket.
*End Flashback*
Which brings us to the situation we are in now.
His arms are wrapped firmly around your waist and he does not seem to want to let go. His face is buried in the crook of your neck and his breath tickles your skin, sending shivers down your spine. You don't know whether you should wake him up or not, but you don't have to think for long.
"Are you feeling better, (Name)?"
"Y-Yes, t-thank you. I-I am sorry if I-I caused you any trouble."
You quickly try to free yourself from his embrace, but to no avail. He lifts his head slightly, so that he can look you in the eyes, while firmly keeping his hands around your waist.
"You did not cause me any trouble. Why would you think that?"
"W-Well, you had to spend your night c-calming me down, when you could be sleeping...."
"I enjoy spending time with you, (Name)."
That does not mean anything, don't get your hopes up, (Name).
"Yes, it does mean something."
"W-What?"
"And before you ask, I can not read your mind. It's just in this close proximity I can see your face very well and it gives away your thoughts. (Name), I really do have feeling for you. I wasn't asked to go on this mission with you, I volunteered to go with you. I wanted to spend some times with you alone. I just didn't have the guts to ask you. Master agreed to send me, but then he also sent Juvia, so that you would not feel uncomfortable traveling alone with some guy. I finally gathered up the courage to ask you if you wanted to be my girlfriend yesterday evening, which is why I came to your room, but I then saw that we had more important matters to take care of."
"Thank you once again, Gray. You saved me."
"Anything for you, (Name). Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Of course!"
"Good. Now, let's lie in bed for a bit longer before Juvia comes to break down your door, when she finds out I am not in my room."
