Zach's POV
My eyes were glued on Cemil and his were on me as well. I forgot we had others in the room as I saw only Cemil. I was about to move and follow him when he turned to leave but then the unfamiliar voice stopped him and me as well.
The voice belonged to a man who was surprised to see Cemil but he still seemed to be happy to meet him. I didn't know him and wondered what he was doing in my office. I silently saw the scene before me unfold. Cemil introduced the man as his mate. He looked right in my eye while saying it and my heart throbbed in my chest. I didn't waver my gaze until the man, Jonathan, stood in front of Cemil. Broking my vision of Cemil.
I didn't say anything but watched them as they talked and finally kissed, that's when I looked away. My gaze came to my messy desk and only looked up when the door of my office was shut closed.
"Now that they are gone, let's get down to business." Kenneth said but Jonathan shook his head.
"Forget about the business shit! I have things to talk with him." He spat and Kenneth looked taken aback by the anger of Jonathan.
"What's wrong?" He asked the angry man but Jonathan didn't spare him a look.
"I don't care that you dated my mate before we met. I dated other people as well before I met him. But I'm here now and I would like it if you back the hell off." He hissed at me, now standing before me with the desk between us.
"What?" Kenneth asked looking at the two of us.
"Don't approach him ever again and don't think of communicating with him in anyway-"
"Hold up man!" Kenneth interrupted Jonathan, making the latter look at him with an annoyed face.
"What?" Jonathan asked Kenneth.
"What are you talking about? I don't understand?"
"You might not understand but your friend here does. He was in a relationship with my mate."
"CJ?" Kenneth frowned and looked at me. "You were dating CJ?"
I stared in wonder at Kenneth. What exactly did he meant by I was dating CJ? I was about to ask when gears started turning in my head. Was Cemil also CJ? If he's CJ then that means he is Charles's brother.
No no no no. This can't be happening!
But it was happening. I opened my mouth to say something, anything, to Kenneth but it didn't come out.
"He's not even denying it." Jonathan spoke up and I closed my eyes as so many thoughts wheeled in my head. How did things get so messy?
"But like I said before, I don't care what you had before. I only care about now. Stay away from my mate!" Jonathan warned.
"You might have got this wrong Jonathan. Zach can't do that. Right?" Kenneth asked and I knew the question was directed to me. He couldn't believe it but neither could I. I opened my eyes and locked them with Kenneth. There was nothing to hide to him and I made sure he knew that by looking in my eyes. By his face expression, I knew he understood my answer.
"No way." He murmured and shook his head in disbelief.
"Stay away Zach. Trust me, you don't want to cross me." Jonathan threatened and then took out his phone. Just as he pocketed it, the door opened and Cemil entered with the others.
I looked away from the people in my office and for the first, I felt like a stranger in this place.
The thought of Charles knowing I dated his little brother was a bit unsettling. I couldn't picture his reaction and for sake of our friendship, I didn't want to tell him. There was the possibility that he would be mad and server the friendship that we had and I couldn't risk it. I needed him now than ever. This whole mess, I needed a friend to see me through it. I couldn't lose Charles over this.
